Mayfield’s performance during the regular season led to the Tampa Bay offense being one of the league’s best units. They were third in yards per game and fourth in points per game. Tampa Bay’s playoff chances were on shaky ground, but then the Buccaneers won six of their final seven games to make the postseason for a fifth straight year. Mayfield’s performance was a driving force behind a great second half of the regular season.

Mayfield and the Buccaneers begin their NFL Playoffs with a home game against the Washington Commanders on Sunday night. These teams played in Week 1 down in Tampa and the Buccaneers won 37-20. Mayfield torched the Commanders defense for one of the best games of his season. He went 24-of-30 with 289 passing yards and 4 touchdowns through the air. Mayfield will look to have a repeat of his Week 1 performance on Sunday to propel the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to the Divisional Round of the NFL Playoffs.
