Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen Makes History In Loss

Josh Allen

Buffalo Bills Quarterback Josh Allen made history in today’s road loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He became the first player in NFL regular season history to have 3 passing and 3 rushing touchdowns in a game. Otto Graham had this same statline in the 1954 NFL Championship Game. This is Allen’s second consecutive historic game as last week against the San Francisco 49ers he was the first QB in NFL history with a passing, rushing, and receiving touchdown in the same game.

Allen went 22-of-37 with a season-high 342 passing yards against the Rams this afternoon. The star quarterback is putting together an MVP-caliber season as he has 26 total touchdowns and is second in the league in QBR. Unfortunately, the Buffalo Bills defense had no answer for the Los Angeles offense as they surrendered 44 points. Will Allen and the Buffalo Bills be able to recover and regain their momentum heading into the regular season’s remaining games?

Buffalo Bills Season Summary

Buffalo’s loss dropped them to 10-3 on the season, but they are still in prime position for the NFL Playoffs. They currently occupy the No. 2 seed in the AFC and are 1.5 GB of the Kansas City Chiefs for the top seed in the AFC. Kansas City is preparing to face the Los Angeles Chargers to close out the Sunday slate. Buffalo has been one of the league’s best teams this season. Their offense is 11th in the league in total yards per game and second in the league in points per game. Allen has been the proverbial tip of the spear for the Buffalo Bills offense this season.

Even though the Buffalo Bills defense was miserable against the Rams, they have been a strong unit this season. They are 11th in the league in yards allowed per game and seventh in the league in points allowed. Buffalo’s defense, tied for the league lead in turnovers, was unable to force a turnover in today’s shootout loss.

Final Thoughts

The Buffalo Bills will have to recover as they prepare to go on the road to face the Detroit Lions next Sunday. If Josh Allen continues to play like he has this season, and especially over the last two games, Buffalo will have as good of a chance as ever to go on a deep playoff run. They hope 2024 will be the year when they can finally break through.
