He also has been a steady pass-catcher out of the backfield as he has 11 receptions for 123 yards (11.2 yards per catch) and a receiving touchdown.
This is the first game of James Cook’s three-year NFL career that he is missing due to injury and this will put more pressure on Josh Allen as a result. Cook leads the team in rushing and Josh Allen is the only other player on the roster with at least 80 rushing yards this year. The New York Jets are second in the sport with 255.8 yards per game allowed and with interim coach Jeff Ulbrich being a defensive-minded coach, this will be an interesting test for the Buffalo Bills to move the ball without their top running back.
