The end of the Las Vegas Raiders having wide receiver Davante Adams on their roster is quickly approaching. There have been reports on teams that would be interested and the Las Vegas Raiders have an asking price of a second-round pick and an additional draft pick as compensation for the trade. However, after Week 5 is getting ready to wind down with Monday Night Football, there has been a report floating around about when a deal could be taking place.
Davante Adams could be traded in 48 hours
The Davante Adams trade is going to happen quickly if reports are to be believed. While we do not necessarily know where Davante Adams would land, two teams have remained at the top of Adams’ trade request: the New York Jets and the New Orleans Saints. This makes sense as he has the connection at quarterback with both teams as he played the first eight years of his career with Aaron Rodgers and played college football at Fresno State with Derek Carr.
The Athletic’s Diana Russini has reported that things for the Las Vegas Raiders could be happening quickly as she wrote the following:
“Since last week I’ve had plenty of conversations about where [Davante] Adams might be traded. But the more pressing question right now: When will he land? As far as the Raiders and the receiver are concerned, they want him to have a new home some time in the next 48 hours. Vegas is still in search of a second-round pick as compensation. It’s worth noting that the Jets’ London road trip won’t hold up the process – they flew back immediately after Sunday’s loss to the Vikings at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. New York and the Saints remain the favorites, with the Steelers still firmly in the hunt. The Chiefs and Bills aren’t necessarily out of it, though perhaps Buffalo might be more willing to budge after Josh Allen’s struggles.”
This makes sense as the connection between Davante Adams and Las Vegas Raiders coach Antonio Pierce seemingly has soured since Pierce liked an Instagram post about the team being without Adams. While there is still time for other teams to jump into the mix, the betting odds give us an indication. The news will be spreading like wildfire if he is traded and there are only a few teams that make realistic sense to trade for Davante Adams.
