Green Bay Packers WR Romeo Doubs ‘Doubtful’ In Week 5

Green Bay Packers Wide Receiver, Romeo Doubs

The Green Bay Packers (2-2) are shorthanded at the wide receiver position after one of the veterans injured his ankle in Week Four against the Minnesota Vikings. Christian Watson left the game last week in the second quarter. He was later diagnosed with a high ankle sprain. But, that is not the only injury on the Green Bay Packers football team.

A list of players is questionable this week as the Green Bay Packers will take on the Los Angeles Rams including Watson, Devonte Wyatt, Jaire Alexander, Jordan Morgan, etc. As of Friday another key wide receiver is doubtful to play in Week Five. Since Green Bay is already without Christian Watson, their second-leading receiver Romeo Doubs could miss the game tomorrow, but it is not due to an injury.

Romeo Doubs chose to skip practice on Thursday and Friday. Sadly for the Green Bay Packers, this will leave the offense without one of their best wideouts. Doubs skipped practice because he is unsatisfied with his role as a pass-catcher. Through four games, Doubs has 12 receptions for 169 yards. Unfortunately, the second-leading receiver does not have any touchdowns offensively.

Coaches could not find Romeo Doubs around the Packers’ practice facilities yesterday. Later on, the staff found him at home. In case he does not play on Sunday against the Rams, Dontayvion Wicks and Jayden Reed will have to carry the load for the Green Bay Packers receiving core.

Green Bay Packers Offensive Weapons

Jayden Reed is the top target for the Green Bay Packers with 17 catches for 336 yards and two touchdowns. With Jordan Love returning as the starting signal caller, he will be limited with who he can distribute the ball to. Love threw for 389 yards with four touchdowns and three interceptions against the Vikings. Having a full week of practice under his belt, timing, and accuracy should be better against the Rams.

It is unclear if Doubs will decide to return to the team. The NFL trade deadline is quickly approaching and Romeo Doubs could seek a trade if he is still overlooked on offense with the Green Bay Packers moving forward. Head coach Matt LaFleur will have to adjust his game plan in the passing game this week. Using the tight end more often is a possible solution.

Luke Musgrave is still sidelined with an injury so Tucker Kraft has been the latest replacement at the tight end spot on offense. Week Five will be interesting for the Green Bay Packers especially on the offensive side of the ball without two veteran receivers on the field. The Packers will face the Los Angeles Rams tomorrow at 4:25 pm ET on CBS.
