BREAKING: Indianapolis Colts QB Anthony Richardson Ruled Out With Hip Injury
The Indianapolis Colts will be without Quarterback Anthony for the remainder of Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The former fourth overall pick was ruled out today following a hip injury he sustained late in the first quarter of today’s contest. He was running with the ball and was tackled by Pittsburgh Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. Richardson instantly went down in pain. Richardson was having a strong day before his injury. He was 3-of-4 for 71 yards and added 24 yards on the ground.
Richardson was seen heading to the locker room for further evaluation following his injury and was ruled out soon after. Veteran Quarterback Joe Flacco relived Richardson and finished the drive where he relieved Richardson with a touchdown pass. The Indianapolis Colts are leading 17-0 at the time of publication.
Indianapolis Colts Dealing With Another Richardson Injury
The Indianapolis Colts are no stranger to playing without Richardson. He only played four games in his rookie season after he underwent season-ending surgery for a shoulder injury. Even with Richardson being limited in 2023, the Indianapolis Colts barely missed the NFL Playoffs with a 9-8 record. Indianapolis Colts hope Richardson can return soon as Indy heads on the road for two straight divisional matchups. They play the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans the next two weeks.
Indianapolis needs to find ways to keep their quarterback healthy. The team invested in him heavily last year, and the Colts have a roster that is ready-made to compete now. Head Coach Shane Steichen is viewed as one of the sharpest offensive minds in the league and needs to get the best out of his young quarterback while also keeping him on the field.
