This weekend’s game should be a slam dunk for the Las Vegas Raiders. Coming off of a great upset win last week in Baltimore, emotions are running high.
The Carolina Panthers on the other hand are reeling. They’ve opened the season with back-to-back rough losses. They’ve given up on their young quarterback Bryce Young and are starting Andy Dalton against the Raiders. In the past, this was a game the Las Vegas Raiders would lose. Head Coach Antonio Pierce will look to continue guiding the team in the right direction.
Get The Offensive Line In Order

The first and most important key is to get the offensive line in order. The Las Vegas Raiders have been abysmal to start the season, something Pierce echoed earlier this week. The rushing attack has been non-existent to start the season and they only have 98 yards rushing as a team. Rookie second-round pick Jackson Powers-Johnson is set for his debut this week and should provide a massive boost.
Nothing gets going offensively if the offensive line isn’t blocking well. The Panthers don’t have the great defensive line that Baltimore and the Los Angeles Chargers have. They’re also missing their best player on defense, Derrick Brown, for the season.
‘Minshew Mania’ Must Run Wild
After seven brutal quarters of offensive play, the fourth quarter in week two was pure “Minshew Mania.” Gardner Minshew led three touchdown drives en route to an epic comeback. The Las Vegas Raiders need more of that sort of play going forward as the offense finally became productive.
With the running game being stifled so harshly the first two weeks, the Las Vegas Raiders will need Minshew to take over. The offense flowed so much better when he was able to let it rip. It led to Davante Adams and Brock Bowers combining for 18 catches for over 200 yards.
Maxx Crosby Legacy Game Inbound
The defense has been tough the first two weeks, and nobody wants to face them. Both the Chargers and Ravens had their difficulties against the stingy Las Vegas Raiders defense. A big reason why has to be the play of superstar and reigning AFC Defensive Player of the Week, Maxx Crosby.
Robert Spillane has had a great season as well and deserves recognition. But it’s “Mad Maxx” who has stepped up from being a Defensive Player of the Year finalist to potential front-runner. Against Carolina, it would be great to see Crosby break his personal record of five sacks in a single game. With Carolina turning to an older pocket passer in Dalton, it provides an opportunity for Crosby to go wild.
