Dana White Discusses UFC and Potential Boxing League Partnership

Dana White

World Boxing News (WBN) has recently engaged in discussions with UFC President Dana White about upcoming events, including UFC Noche and UFC 306. Set to take place at the Strip’s newest $2.3 billion venue, UFC 306 has seen its production costs soar to $20 million.

Nonetheless, it seems that White has managed to offset those costs with a hefty sponsor in the form of Riyadh Season. This event has been the third Riyadh Season event in the US within just seven weeks and has suggested the UFC and the Saudi Arabian entertainment venture have more events in the pipeline.

Potential Future Partnerships: Boxing League Rumors

Dana White already suggested that there is a plan, that would include not only UFC but also Riyadh Season when interacting with WBN last week. While he did not specify, the partnership with Riyadh Season can open the potential for more projects in the future.

On being asked about the above-said rumors about UFC getting involved in the boxing league spearheaded by Turki Alalshikh, Dana White keeps mum but is positive. The new boxing league that might unite the most promising boxers might appear as soon as 2025.

On a recent tour of the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, he was asked about the UFC’s possible involvement in contributing toward the development of Alalshikh’s boxing league. Alalshikh, who has previously attempted to bring together boxing promoters like Frank Warren and Eddie Hearn, is now being groomed for the creation of a major boxing league.

Dana White agreed with this notion that the sky is the limit in this regard, however, he did not give any further details. This response emerged as rumors about the UFC and TKO group’s plans to enter the boxing industry continue to unfold.

TKO Group’s Possible Expansion into Boxing

Based on what Dana White said about the TKO Group which has WWE and UFC, it might be possible for another boxing business to benefit from this company. Still, he is known for his criticisms of boxing, and has at one point pointed out that the TKO Group might consider boxing prospects.

There seems to be a new crop of talents such as Callum Walsh who participates in events aired on UFC Fight Pass which should provide a point for beginning any boxing-related activities. Dana White has pledged his support for Walsh and is still willing to see big changes within the boxing scene.

As discussions are made on the ongoing event, the partnership of UFC and Riyadh Season, and the rising prospect of a new boxing league, the future of combat sports is at the precipice of a significant makeover. As the specifics of those plans are still sketchy, there is lots of positive sentiment for both MMA and boxing fans as to the future.
