It’s never too early to be thinking about the 2025 NFL Draft! Now that we are three weeks in, we are starting to see the needs that certain teams have. We are also starting to get an idea of which teams are the contenders and which ones are the pretenders. While the season is still very young, this mock draft will go off the current draft order. Will this change over the course of the year? Absolutely! (I can’t say I’d put my money on Minnesota winning it all even though they have looked good). Without further ado, let’s dive in!
2025 NFL Draft: Mock Draft
Jacksonville Jaguars: Will Campbell OT LSU
The Jaguars are sticking with Trevor Lawrence. He hasn’t been great over the past eight games, but there is a floor of competency. It’s all about keeping him upright. Taking one of the top tackles in the draft will help solidify the protection around their franchise quarterback.
Tennessee Titans: Carson Beck QB Georgia
I’m in the camp of I don’t think Will Levis is that bad. Yes, he has some hilariously bad plays, but he also looks in control of the offense at times. However, his fall to the second round in the 2022 NFL Draft makes a quarterback move easier to swallow. Tennessee has spent the last two drafts building the offensive line. It’s time to get a new quarterback.
Cincinnati Bengals: Travis Hunter CB Colorado
I doubt the Bengals will pick high enough at the end of the season to get him, but man, wouldn’t this be fun to see? Cincinnati needs some defensive help. The offense is set even with the likely departure of Tee Higgins. They need a bona fide playmaker at corner. Hunter is that guy. Furthermore, they could use him in some offensive sets as well. Imagining Ja’Marr Chase and Travis Hunter lining up together makes me giddy as a football fan.
Indianapolis Colt: Will Johnson CB Michigan
The problem with the Colts’ offense is easy to see. Anthony Richardson needs to play better and be more accurate. Indianapolis needs defense. They pick up a player who many believe is the best player in the class. Pairing him with Laiatu Latu gives the Colts potential defensive stars to build around.
New England Patriots: Kelvin Banks OT Texas
Did you watch the Thursday night game against the Jets? There is a reason Jacoby Brissett is starting and not Drake Maye. However, Maye will more than likely start next year. The Patriots need to invest in the line and get one of the top tackles in the league.
Cleveland Browns: Luther Burdon III WR Missouri
It’s so tempting to have the Browns take a quarterback here, but they are too invested in Deshaun Watson. If he has to be the quarterback, it’s time to upgrade the weapons. Amari Cooper is great but isn’t getting any younger. Burdon is a top-tier receiver and could slot immediately into the number-one role.
Miami Dolphins: Mason Graham DL Michigan
There is so much up in the air with Miami right now. Who knows? They could be taking a quarterback here. However, when in doubt, always build the trenches. With the top two tackles off the board, they pick up a talented defensive tackle to anchor their run defense.
Carolina Panthers: James Pearce Jr. Edge Tennessee
What doesn’t Carolina need? Yes, the team looked better with Andy Dalton under center, but this team still has huge holes. The biggest is on the defensive line. After trading Brian Burns, the pass rush is toothless. Pearch Jr. gives some juice back to a unit needing players who can disrupt the quarterback.
Dallas Cowboys: Tetairoa McMillan WR Arizona
Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb are locked up. The offensive weapons outside of Lamb are uninspiring. Brandin Cooks is an aging veteran. Their young players haven’t popped. Jerry Jones won’t be able to resist. He will try to create a talented wide receiver duo that will blow the doors off the league and create a buzz in Dallas.
Chicago Bears: Mykel Williams DL Georgia
The Bears should focus on the trenches in the 2025 NFL Draft. I like them focusing on the defense. Caleb Williams has the ability to raise the floor of an offense. While he hasn’t shown it yet, the tape is not as bad as the numbers make it seem. Williams gives them a quality lineman to their already potent defense.
New York Giants Quinn Ewers QB Texas
It’s over, Giants fans. Daniel Jones can’t hurt you anymore. I don’t think what Jones does this year matters. The front office doesn’t want to waste Malik Nabers’ prime years on the failed sixth-overall pick. Ewers has an injury history, but when he is on the field, he has all the tools that teams are looking for in a quarterback.
Baltimore Ravens: Benjamin Morrison CB Notre Dame
The Baltimore secondary needs some help, especially as Marlon Humphrey ages. Pairing Morrison with Kyle Hamilton injects some young talent into a unit that desperately needs it. The offensive line is a bit of a concern right now, but I believe it is due to a lack of reps and not a lack of talent.
Denver Broncos: Deone Walker DL Kentucky
I’m gonna let you in on a little secret. I don’t think Denver’s offense is that bad. They’ve got some nice playmakers and their offensive line is above-average. Is Bo Nix the future? Not sure yet but he isn’t hilariously bad and has a good coach. The Denver defense has an All-Pro caliber corner in Patrick Surtain. They need to dominate the trenches and Walker has the ability to do so.
Los Angeles Rams: Shedeur Sanders QB Colorado
Get ready to hear a lot of talk about Shedeur Sanders during the NFL Draft cycle. Every morning sports talk show will run at least one segment daily on the Colorado quarterback. His stock has taken a bit of a dip this season but he lands in an absolutely fantastic position. Matthew Stafford is in the twilight of his career. Cooper Kupp, Puka Nacua, and Kyren Williams give Sanders plenty of weapons. Plus, it’s LA for the Sanders family. Perfect fit.
Arizona Cardinals: Nic Scourton Edge Texas A&M
Arizona’s offense is looking good with Kyler Murray back healthy. Marvin Harrison Jr. looks like the real deal and their investments on the offensive line have paid off. Jonathan Gannon has done well with the talent given to him. Now it’s time to give him top-tier talent and see what he can do.
San Francisco 49ers: Emery Jones Jr. OT LSU
The 49ers have invested in their skill positions. Christian McCaffrey, Deebo Samuel, Brandon Aiyuk, and George Kittle are all under massive contracts. Trent Williams isn’t getting any younger, and Brock Purdy is in line for a payday soon. They need help in the trenches, and they need to get it on the cheap. No better place to do that than the 2025 NFL Draft.
Atlanta Falcons: Walter Nolan DL Ole Miss
Nolan was a number one overall recruit for a reason. While he hasn’t produced in college as many expected, NFL scouts won’t be able to resist his raw talent. The Falcons need to improve their defensive line. They brought in Matthew Judon this season but need to inject young talent.
Green Bay Packers: Kenneth Grant DL Michigan
The streak isn’t going to be broken. Brian Gutekunst has gone defense for his entire tenure. It isn’t stopping now. Kenny Clark is starting to show his age, and the franchise will be looking to pair someone with former first-round pick Devonte Wyatt, who has looked good in Jeff Hafley’s defense. Grant can help stop the run and give another rotational piece for the improving defense.
Las Vegas Raiders: Cam Ward QB Miami
By the time April rolls around, I think Ward will be going in the top ten. The Raiders might be picking in the top ten by the end of the year as well. Ward has looked great for the Hurricanes so far. While they haven’t played tough teams, the former Washington State Cougar has looked like a Heisman candidate. This team needs a quarterback. They missed out on the last draft. They won’t miss this time.
Washington Commanders: Emeka Egbuka WR Ohio State
I’m convinced. Jayden Daniels is a franchise quarterback. I know it’s only three weeks in, but I’m drinking the Kool-Aid. It’s time to get him some weapons. Ohio State has been churning out wide receivers for the last half-decade. The Commanders get a young talent to pair with veteran receiver Terry McLaurin.
Los Angeles Chargers: Colston Loveland TE Michigan
You see where I went with this pick? Do you think Jim Harbaugh will be able to resist bringing in the top tight end from his national championship-winning team? I sure don’t. It’s an area of need, and rookie tight ends haven’t been as much of a project as they historically have been.
New Orleans Saints: Malaki Starks S Georgia
I have no idea what to do with this Saints team. Are they good? Are they trying to win now? Is Dennis Allen really the answer at head coach? It’s an aging defense, and Starks is one of the top safeties in the draft. Take the best player and figure it out from there.
New York Jets: Airesontae Ersery OT Minnesota
Get ready, Jets fans. The Aaron Rodgers “Will I play another year?” saga will commence as soon as the season ends. Let’s operate under the assumption that Rodgers is coming back. The offensive line is the priority, then. If he doesn’t come back, the offensive line is still a position of high priority. It’s a good pick regardless of who is under center.
Detroit Lions: Abdul Carter Edge Penn State
Aidan Hutchinson needs some help and it needs to come in the 2o25 NFL Draft He is an absolutely dominant force on the edge. However, teams can often focus in on him and force someone else to beat them. The Lions will look to build a one-two punch off the edge with Carter. With so many offensive players signed to long-term deals, GM Brad Holmes will need to look to the NFL Draft for cheap defensive talent.
Houston Texans: Harold Perkins Jr. LB LSU
I don’t have a good feel for Houston quite yet, so in this mock draft, I gave them a player I’m not sure what to do with right now. Perkins Jr. is out for the season with a knee injury but was projected as a first-round pick. DeMeco Ryans has to be happy with his offense, but the defense needs more talent if it’s going to dominate the elite quarterbacks in the conference.
Philadelphia Eagles: Jonah Savaiinaea OL Arizona
Jason Kelce has retired. Lane Johnson is getting older. The Eagles have great offensive pieces in the prime of their careers. It won’t matter if they can’t block. The talented lineman out of Arizona gets into a great situation and can learn under some of the aging veterans before taking the reigns.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Denzel Burke CB Ohio State
The Bucs need some help at the cornerback position. There are many elite receivers in this league and an above-average corner is needed on the outside. There might be some wariness because of the history of Ohio State corners in the NFL, but at the end of the first round, there is less pressure. Todd Bowles is the perfect coach for a young corner as well.
Buffalo Bills: Landon Jackson Edge Arkansas
Buffalo’s offense hasn’t missed a beat. Many wondered what the team would do without Stefon Diggs. The answer is Josh Allen. We are watching an elite athlete in his prime and it is great to see. The Bills need to replace Von Miller on the edge. Pressuring the quarterback is essential, especially when your biggest nemesis is Patrick Mahomes. I expect the Bills to bolster the defense in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Seattle Seahawks: Tyleik Williams DL Ohio State
Mike MacDonald has looked good through three games as the head coach. The issue Seattle is having is injuries. Wide receiver is beginning to be an area of need as DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett enter the back end of their careers. However, the team still needs to improve their defensive line. Byron Murphy has been good through three games (though he is injured now), and adding another defensive piece would be helpful.
Kansas City Chiefs: Princely Umanmielen Edge Ole Miss
The Kansas City defense has been the story through the first three weeks. Under Steve Spagnuolo, the unit has kept games close so Patrick Mahomes and the offense can find their identity. The Chiefs lean into this strength in the 2025 NFL Draft. While they have good pass rushers, they lack a truly dominant rusher off the edge. Umanmielen has a huge upside, especially if he gets in the right position. There’s no better position than the Chiefs.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Ashton Jeanty RB Boise State
First-round running backs are risky. However, I think the need is too great for the Steelers, considering the style of football they want to play. Najee Harris likely won’t be re-signed. Jaylen Warren is starting to pile up injuries, and Cordaralle Patterson isn’t the long-term answer. This team has the luxury of taking the top back. Jeanty has been awesome to watch this season, and if the offensive line can develop, they could be in for a huge rookie season.
Minnesota Vikings: Tacario Davis CB Arizona
Brian Flores is a master. He has been able to do more with less, which is the hallmark of a good coordinator. However, having talent is also nice. Cornerback is one of the premium positions in the NFL. If the Vikings can lock down an opposing team’s top receiver, it will only make their defense more dominant. Wherever the Vikings end up picking, I like them to focus on the defense.
The 2025 NFL Draft has some interesting players especially at the quarterback position. Last year, the quarterbacks ruled the draft and this year is shaping up to be similar. This is the first of many mock drafts here at Total Apex Sports. Check back every week for an updated mock draft!
