WWE has shown the ability to work with other companies more often over the last few years and one wrestling company they have done business with is TNA. It was announced on Thursday afternoon that there has been a multi-year partnership between the two companies. While no other details have been announced outside of the press release that was sent out to the media, tis is an intriguing position for both companies to be at. Let’s take a closer look at what this means going forward.
WWE & TNA Announce Partnership
WWE and TNA have been two of the longest-running wrestling promotions in the United States and on Thursday, there was an official announcement that they will enter a working agreement. Their press release announcing the multi-year partnership specifically mentioned NXT and TNA iMPACT being shows in which there is a crossover between the two companies.
“WWE, part of TKO Group Holdings (NYSE: TKO), and TNA Wrestling, one of the world’s top wrestling brands and a subsidiary of Anthem Sports & Entertainment, today announced a multi-year partnership aimed at creating unprecedented crossover opportunities within WWE and TNA programming for NXT Superstars and TNA Wrestling Stars. The agreement will enable talent to garner additional exposure across key WWE and TNA programming, including weekly flagship shows such as NXT – which airs live on The CW – and TNA iMPACT!, select WWE Premium Live Events and TNA pay-per-views, in turn bolstering their in-ring development with exposure to world-class talent and coaching.”
Wrestlers from both companies have appeared on the other’s shows throughout 2024 and this could create a massive influx of new talent going through the “Forbidden Door” of professional wrestling. With the 2025 Royal Rumble coming up, there may be a few names that could wind up in the marquee match as well as appearing on one of the major TNA pay-per-views in a significant match. Both companies have wrestlers who have made their names in both promotions so seeing a crossover between WWE and TNA now be made public is something that can create fresh matches and new faces that some fans are not aware of. For the performers, this is a chance to get more exposure as well as coaching from some of the legends in professional wrestling as well.
