Atlanta Dream Squeaks Out a 91-90 Win Over Indiana Fever
The Indiana Fever hosted the Atlanta Dream in a WNBA Eastern Conference matchup on Tuesday night. The Dream defeated the Fever 91-90 at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis. Atlanta improved to 1-1, while Indiana fell to 1-1.

The Indiana Fever’s starting lineup featured Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell, DeWanna Bonner, Natasha Howard and Aliyah Boston. Clark, 23, was gifted a signed driver by professional golf Bubba Watson before the tip-off. Watson, 46, sat courtside at the game. Watson’s one of the few left-handed PGA Tour golfers.
The Atlanta Dream’s starting lineup featured Te-Hina Paopao, Allisha Gray, Rhyne Howard, Brionna Jones and Brittney Griner. Before the game, Atlanta gave a shoutout on X, formerly Twitter, to its official textured haircare partner, Mielle Organics LLC, and thanked them for ensuring they show up confidently this season.
The first quarter was a high-scoring affair, with both teams exchanging leads and ties. The Dream led 31-23 after the first quarter. The second quarter was rather low-key, but both teams gradually picked up the pace. The Dream took a 44-42 lead into halftime.
The third quarter saw the Dream’s red-hot start. Howard contributed to the Dream’s 9-0 run before the Fever called a timeout as the Dream led 53-42 in the opening minutes. The Dream led 76-65 after three quarters. The fourth quarter shifted in favor of the Fever. The Fever cut the Dream’s lead to 89-87 and tied the game 89-89 in the final minutes. However, the Dream’s offense maintained momentum to win 91-90 in regulation.
Fever vs. Dream Injury Reports
The Indiana Fever listed Sophie Cunningham as questionable with a right ankle injury entering Tuesday’s game. Cunningham, 28, has been listed as day-to-day after taking 3-point shots with her teammates and giving no sign of her being in pain or taking it easy on her injured right ankle on Monday.
The Atlanta Dream ruled out Jordin Canada with a right knee injury. Canada, 29, was diagnosed with the injury and will be re-evaluated in two weeks, Matt Cohen of Winsidr.com reported on May 9, 2025.

The Indiana Fever and Atlanta Dream will meet again on Thursday night at 7:30 p.m. Eastern but in the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. The game will be broadcast on Amazon Prime Video, Peachtree TV, and WTHR-13.
