The WNBA has announced Indianapolis as the next destination for the marquee event on the women’s basketball schedule. Gainbridge Fieldhouse will hold its inaugural mid-summer collection of stars on July 18-19, 2025. A three-point competition and skills challenge event will be held on Friday, July 18 with the All-Star game tipping off on Saturday, July 19. The 2025 WNBA All-Star Game will be the 21st edition of the game for the league.
Indianapolis Represents the Epicenter of WNBA Fever

The WNBA is wisely capitalizing on the surging popularity of the Indiana Fever and star guard Caitlin Clark. After a bit of a shaky start to the season as a team unit, the Fever have settled into the season with a chance at playoff positioning with an 11-15 record with 14 games remaining on the summer campaign. Indiana is 5-5 over their last 10 games after winning only once in their first 10 games of the season. The Fever returns to action tomorrow night at home against Phoenix. The average attendance of just short of 17,000 for Indy leads the league, and multiple games have broken viewership records in the first half of the season. Mel Raines, CEO of Pacers Sports & Entertainment, is delighted to earn the distinguished honor of hosting a WNBA in Indiana.
“We are in the middle of a pivotal, transformational moment in the history of the WNBA and women’s basketball, and we are thrilled Indiana will be the center of it all with the game’s biggest stars on display during next season’s All-Star Game,” said Raines. “Leaders across our community are going to do what we do best: welcome fans from around the nation and the globe to Indiana, raise the bar for future host cities, and leave a lasting legacy for our city and state.”
On the basketball court, Caitlin Clark is averaging a team-high 17 points, 8 assists, and 1.5 steals per game this season for the Indiana Fever. Clark has become a 40% shooter from the floor over her first 26 professional games. Fever forward Aliyah Boston certainly deserves a share of that All-Star spotlight next July. Boston averages 14 points with a team-high 9 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per contest. Those are just two players of the talented starting lineup that also includes Kelsey Mitchell, Katie Lou Samuelson, and NaLyssa Smith that Indiana has put together for the 2024 season.
Back To The Future For the All-Star Game
With the 2024 Paris Olympics completed, the WNBA will be able to return to full rosters for the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis. In 2023, the rosters were made up of 9 hoopers each with five starters and six reserves bench players. New York Liberty’s Breanna Stewart and Las Vegas Aces A’ja Wilson were chosen as captains for the event. The captains chose from a pool of mostly fan-voted starters before rounding out the teams with the remaining reserve options.
On July 15, 2023, Team Stewart defeated Team Wilson, 143-127, in a lights-out display of basketball excellence in Las Vegas. Thirteen different players scored 10 points in the game with Jewell Loyd posting a game-high 31 for the winner. Las Vegas Aces Kelsey Plum electrified the home court, Michelob Ultra Arena, with 30 points for Team Wilson.
