The former England and Manchester United legendary Captain Wayne Rooney had his say on the most controversial topic in the modern generation of football. Therefore, He spoke about the battle of the best managers in the world, Sir Alex Ferguson and Pep Guardiola.

The debate of the “goated” managers was closed out by Wayne Rooney as he gave a laser-sharp reply in favor of Sir Alex Ferguson. Although he was managed by Sir Alex for about a decade, the “Wazza” gave a fitting subtle reply.

The qualifications for both legendary managers are at the top of the game in football. One’s greatest achievement is to win the 13 Premier Leagues in his 26 seasons alongside two Champions League titles and other domestic trophies as well.

Meanwhile, the other won has won Leagues in different countries, which also includes four consecutive Premier League titles and a total of six Premier League titles in eight years for Man City.

The new Plymouth manager had his say on his opinion about how Sir Alex Ferguson is much better than Pep Guardiola from a very practical perspective. He even mentioned how he thrived in the greatest Scottish league where he managed to win the three Scottish titles with Aberdeen.

He also mentioned how he managed to defeat their lifelong rivals Celtic and Rangers. He said in an interview with ESPN Brazil: “I think of course there are going to be arguments as to who is better, but I think people tend to just look at what Sir Alex did at Manchester United, and what he did at Aberdeen was incredible”.

“And you’d ask the question, could Guardiola do that at a team like Aberdeen? There’s questions, there’s debate, I think Guardiola for his era is of course the best and he’s changed the way football is played worldwide … but yeah for me Sir Alex, what he achieved in the game is incredible.”

The fact that only a few of the football fans know that Sir Alex Ferguson has also defeated Real Madrid while coaching Aberdeen, as he won the European Cup in 1983.

When it comes to having more trophies Sir Alex has more of them as he managed two clubs in his entire career. He has a total tally of 49 trophies. Sir Alex even managed the Scottish National Team in the 1986 World Cup. His coterie of trophies and also the great legends he has produced.

His impeccable fashion of tactics, when it comes to producing legends like Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Rio Ferdinand, Nemanja Vidic, Edwin Van Der Sar, and last but not least Cristiano Ronaldo.

Pep Guardiola has won in different Leagues like Spain, Germany and England. He has achieved 38 trophies including three Champions League trophies for Barcelona and Manchester City. Although, two of the great rivals have faced each other in the Champions League where Pep took the 3-2 lead over Sir Alex.

However, this doesn’t sum up in the favor of Pep. Sir Alex has won the major trophies in a very rigid condition for his clubs. He put Man United in the spotlight during a very difficult phase for the club against Liverpool. Likewise, he did the same with Aberdeen. Pep has taken the wheel of the biggest names in the world.
