After a promising start of 30 minutes, Tottenham Hotspur’s season took a turn for the worse during the following hour of match time. The transformation under Ange Postecoglou is still very much a work in progress. There will be more errors and setbacks along the way, but the strong start against Leicester City shows that there will also be good times. This weekend, that could be one of those times.

Everton will be making their way to North London following a challenging 0-3 defeat in their opening weekend match against Brighton. The Toffees have been going through a challenging period lately. However, their performance from last year would have been sufficient to secure a 12th-place finish if not for the points deduction. Still, Everton isn’t anticipated to do much this season other than avoid relegation. This could be an excellent opportunity for Spurs to get back to winning ways.

Tottenham vs. Everton: Team News & Stats

There was encouraging news regarding Bentancur’s health before the final whistle in Tottenham’s match against Leicester. The Uruguayan was conscious and conversing and did not require medical attention. Unfortunately, due to concussion protocols, Bentancur will be unable to participate in Saturday’s game. Yves Bissouma, who faced a ban due to a laughing gas video he posted, could be a direct replacement in the midfield. Dominic Solanke will be unable to participate in this match due to an ankle injury. As a result, Richarlison will have the opportunity to once again trouble Everton. The Brazillian previously netted three goals in two matches against his former team during the 2023-24 season.

Everton will undoubtedly have to make a change at right back as a result of Young’s red card. Nathan Patterson, James Garner, and Seamus Coleman are all out injured. Dyche may be left with no other option but to call upon Mason Holgate for the upcoming match in North London. The defensive situation for the visitors has become even more challenging due to Jarrad Branthwaite‘s recent groin operation and a new injury for James Tarkowski. Additionally, Chermiti is still weeks away from returning to action.
