Sancho Says ‘Anything is Possible’ with 22-Year-Old Genius

Chelsea’s Jason Sancho has stated that “anything is possible” with Cole Palmer in the club. Palmer made history on Saturday, becoming the first Premier League player to score four goals in the first half of a game with a 4-2 victory over Brighton. Sancho won a penalty for Chelsea in this match which Palmer converted.

Sancho Praises Cole Palmer

Jadon Sancho who recently joined Chelsea said: “When you have a player in your team like Cole Palmer, then anything is possible. I’ve known Cole a long time, since our days together at [Manchester] City. I’ve always watched him and I always thought he would go on to be a great player. He’s showing that now at Chelsea,” Sancho said. “We see what he’s capable of each day in training, we see the quality he has and honestly, it’s no real surprise to me to see him score four goals.”

“In fact, he could have scored five or six goals! I’m sure he will be fuming not to add to his tally but in all seriousness, he’s such a quality player. Having a player like Cole alongside you is very good and I’m happy to assist him,” he stated. 

Palmer Sensational Since Joining Chelsea

The 22-year-old has been on a remarkable run since his £40 million transfer from Manchester City in 2023. Following an outstanding debut season that saw him net 22 goals in 33 Premier League appearances, Palmer has put pen to paper on a contract extension that will keep him at Chelsea till 2033. His impressive form also earned him a spot in England’s squad for the concluded Euro 2024. In Saturday’s 4-2 victory over Brighton, Palmer scored four goals in the first half, becoming the first Premier League player to do so. His teammate Jadon Sancho got an assist to add to his tally.

Palmer has made an immediate impression this season, netting six goals in just six league appearances. After a difficult stint at Manchester City, where he had only six goals and two assists across 41 appearances, Palmer has truly found his stride at Chelsea. He has an impressive tally of 31 goals and 19 assists in just 53 matches for Chelsea. Since the beginning of last season, Palmer has 42 goal contributions and this impressive tally sees him level with Manchester City’s Erling Haaland. The English international has netted three hat tricks in the Premier League, all while featuring in just 39 matches.
