Total Apex Exclusive: Interview with Bubba Wallace on Würth 400 Expectations
23XL driver Bubba Wallace dominated at Talladega Superspeedway during the Jack Lack’s 500, finishing stage 1 in P5 and winning stage 2. The track is one Wallace has done well at, having won there in 2021. He currently holds two Cup Series championship wins, two top fives, and four top tens out of 10 races for 2025. His driver ranking is seventh, and he holds 296 playoff points with an average finish of 16.9 and start of 12.2.
Can he top his Talladega run this weekend in the Würth 400 and claim all three stages to bring home his first win of the season? Statistically speaking, Wallace has started and finished in the top ten over the past two years. In 2023, Wallace led 111 laps, starting from P1 to finishing P3. In 2024, he only led five laps after starting in P10 but still secured a finish of P7. Therefore, tomorrow’s run will be interesting to say the least.
An Exclusive Look at Bubba Wallace’s Plans for the Würth 400
During a pre-practice and qualification press conference Saturday at the TMS Media Center, Total Apex Media’s Sarah Talker interviewed Wallace regarding tomorrow’s run. Talker talked with Wallace about his stage 2 win at Talladega and if he plans to top this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. “So, coming out of Talladega, you took stage 2, are you looking to top that tomorrow?” Talker asked. “Yeah, I’d love to take stage 3 and get us a win, lock ourselves in the playoffs, and yeah, I think Texas has been a decent track and we’ve had a good track record the past couple of races, but nothing’s ever the same,” Bubba Wallace replied.
“So, we just have to work hard today, find out what our balance is going to be, and go get it,” he concluded. Who could argue with that when, over the past couple of races, he’s proven that he’s as strong as Kyle Larson on the track? So far this season, he’s stayed in the top ten in Atlanta, Homestead, Martinsville, and Talladega. So, it will be interesting to see how tomorrow pans out for Bubba Wallace at the 11th annual Würth 400. He finished P18 in practice but qualified in P9 to start inside the top-ten ahead of AJ Allmendinger.
Final Thoughts
Bubba Wallace was candid about his plans for tomorrow’s Würth 400 and hopes to pull more stage wins to top the two he’s already earned this season. Make sure to tune into FS1, HBO Max, MRN, SiriusXM, and NASCAR Radio to catch the NASCAR Cup Series live and see if Wallace makes good on his promise to take stage 3. The stakes are high, and anything could happen. Let’s hope there aren’t repetitive cautions as seen in the Craftsman Truck and Xfinity Series over the past two days.
