NASCAR at Texas Motor Speedway Full Weekend Schedule, Entry List, and Highlights
NASCAR has officially made it to the halfway point of the 2025 season, and so far, it has been nothing short of eventful. From Rockingham to Talladega, the Craftsman, Xfinity, and Cup Series have made history. Will new history be made at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend? The stakes have undoubtedly been high over the past few weeks, and going into Texas, without question, the bar will be set even higher. Here’s a brief look at Rockingham and Talladega and what it means for this weekend.
Xfinity, Craftsman, and Cup Series Post-Race Highlights
After a disastrous Phoenix Cup Series debut, Katherine Legge returned as an Xfinity driver. Disappointingly, she failed to qualify in the No. 32 with Jordan Anderson Racing, but wound up being able to run after an unlikely gesture from Joey Gase driver J.J. Yeley. Legge then ran in place of Yeley, who qualified to start at P31. The run was soon cut short at lap 53 when Legge was pushed by the driver of the No. 18 for Joe Gibbs Racing, William Sawalich.
The push sent her into an unsuspecting Kasey Kahne, who was making his Xfinity return in the No. 33 with Richard Childress Racing after a 7-year hiatus. Sawalich finished outside the top 25, Kahne in P14, and Legge ended her bid early. RCR driver Jesse Love was initially declared the winner after determining his No. 2 Chevrolet had a loose rear suspension. This handed the win over to JR Motorsports’ Sammy Smith.
Austin Hill won the Ag-Pro 300 at Talladega by 000.1 seconds over Jordan Anderson and Jeb Burton. Burton had scored the third-most points at Talladega and was upset post-race, stating he would appeal his P2 finish. For the Craftsman Truck Series No. 18, Tyler Ankrum, squashed a 130-race winless streak at the Black’s Tire 200. He secured the checkered flag for the win by 6.657 seconds over pole-winner Jack Garcia. The series has not yet raced at Talladega but will present at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend for the SpeedyCash.com 250.
Recapping the past two Cup Series races, Hendrick Motorsports’ No. 5 Kyle Larson notched two wins at Bristol Motor Speedway in the Xfinity and Cup Series. He dedicated both wins to longtime friend and PR Representative Jon Edwards. The Jack Link’s 500 saw an unlikely winner in Team Penske’s No. 2 Austin Cindric. Race day was unforgettable for the Team Penske during Stage 2 after teammate verbally bashed Cindric, No. 22 Logano, for allowing Bubba Wallace to pass him for the win.
Joey Logano, who was expected to finish P2, was disqualified along with RFK’s Ryan Preece after being slapped with superspeedway spoiler violations. He was angry with Cindric after he secured his first 2025 win, and it seems they still haven’t settled the beef, though Logano did congratulate him for the win. So, there’s still some heat between the two teammates, and they plan to take it to Texas Motor Speedway this weekend for the 11th Annual Würth 400 by Liqui Moly.  It will undoubtedly be survival of the fittest in the Cup Series, Craftsman, and Xfinity, so stay tuned.
