North American Champions Decided in Wild Lamborghini Super Trofeo Misano Finale
The air at Misano World Circuit was cool, but the action on track was anything but. As the final laps of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America season ticked away, calculators were working overtime to determine who would walk away as champions. It was a morning of high-stakes drama, where every point, every position, and every heartbeat mattered.
When the dust finally settled, two sets of drivers had etched their names into the history books. Glenn McGee and Graham Doyle clinched the Am class title by the slimmest of margins, while Jason Hart and Conrad Geis mounted a stunning comeback to capture the ProAm crown.
A breathtaking, last-gasp pass decided this championship. It was a finale that delivered on every promise of excitement, a fitting end to a hard-fought North American season before the World Finals take center stage.
A Solo Drive to Victory in Pro
With the Pro championship already decided on Thursday in favor of Danny Formal and Hampus Ericsson, the final race was a chance for glory for the rest of the field. Nick Persing seized that opportunity with both hands. Starting from pole in his No. 108 Wayne Taylor Racing Huracรกn, Persing delivered a masterclass in solo driving.
He rocketed off the line and held his ground until the mandatory pit stop. The single-driver rule, which adds three seconds to the pit time, momentarily cost him the lead. Colin Queen, who took over the No. 104 ANSA Motorsports machine from Enzo Geraci, emerged in front. It seemed like a perfectly executed pit strategy had given them the win, but their celebration was cut short.
The No. 104 was hit with a five-second post-race penalty for exceeding track limits, a heartbreaking twist that dropped them to third. This promoted Persing to the top step of the podium, securing his third win of the season.
โThe team fed me the information, although I knew we had pace anyways,โ Persing reflected. โWe got mixed up in lapped traffic, which put me in a weird position… Running solo in these cars is not easy. Big thanks to Wayne Taylor Racing; the car was phenomenal. We went to work and got it done!โ
A Last-Lap Pass Decides the ProAm Champs
The ProAm battle was a season-long war of attrition between two determined pairings: Jason Hart and Conrad Geis versus Tadas Karlinskas and Darius Trinka. The championship came down to the final moments of the final race.
Hart and Geis, in their No. 167 TR3 Racing Huracรกn, had gained a crucial advantage by winning Thursdayโs race. For the finale, the teams opted for opposite strategies. TR3 pitted early, unleashing Hart for a long final stint, while MLT Motorsports ran long before handing off to Karlinskas.
Hart was a man on a mission, slicing his way through the field to take the ProAm lead. But the championship was far from over. Karlinskas was holding onto second place, a position that would have been enough to secure the title.
The deciding factor came in the form of Nico Jamin, whose late-race charge in the No. 130 ANSA entry was relentless. In the final, nail-biting laps, Jamin hunted down Karlinskas and made a decisive pass for second. That single move flipped the championship standings, crowning Hart and Geis as the 2025 ProAm champs.
โI had no radio, so I was just navigating,โ said a breathless Hart. โConrad had a mega opening stint, and I had to respect it.โ Geis added, โI couldnโt have a better coach or team since I started racing last year.โ
McGee and Doyle Hang on for the Am Title
The Am class delivered its own share of heart-stopping action. Jem Hepworth and Lindsay Brewer, in the No. 102 RAFA Racing Huracรกn, were determined to play the role of spoilers. Hepworth put on a clinic at the start, charging from fifth to first within three laps.
The all-female duo drove a flawless race to claim their second victory of the season. But the real story was the championship fight unfolding behind them. Glenn McGee and Graham Doyle needed to finish on the podium to secure the title.
Doyle drove a smart, calculated stint, keeping his main rival behind him before handing the No. 110 Wayne Taylor Racing Huracรกn over to McGee. They brought the car home in second place, which was more than enough to clinch the Am championship. For McGee, it marked an incredible third consecutive Super Trofeo title.
โSuper stoked for this; third championship in a row,โ said a triumphant McGee. โHis first championship, and heโs been improving so much, what a great driver heโs become.โDoyle, relieved and overjoyed, added, โIt was a hectic start, so I had a first-person view of all the craziness, but the mindset today was about the championship, not the win.โ
Final Thoughts
With the North American titles decided, the teams now turn their attention to the Lamborghini World Finals, where they will face the best from Europe and Asia in a showdown for global bragging rights.
