Pittsburgh Steelers Sign Defensive Tackle Daniel Ekuale

Pittsburgh Steelers

The Pittsburgh Steelers signed Defensive Tackle Daniel Ekuale Sunday night. He is coming off the best season of his career with the New England Patriots. He had 52 tackles and 1 sack. According to PFF, he was in the top 50 against the run last season. Will Ekuale contribute positively to the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2025?

Pittsburgh Steelers Offseason Outlook

It has been a mediocre offseason for the Pittsburgh Steelers. They made some shrewd moves on offense and defense but have yet to improve the quarterback position. Pittsburgh is reportedly interested in Quarterback Aaron Rodgers, but the future Hall of Famer is taking his time to decide where he will play next. A reunion with Russell Wilson is also a possibility if Rodgers chooses another team this offseason. Pittsburgh drafting a quarterback next month is seemingly not an option.

Pittsburgh’s marquee offseason move was acquiring Wide Receiver DK Maetcalf from the Seattle Seahawks. The team also signed Cornerback Darius Slay and Linebacker Malik Harrison. Ekuale joins a Steelers defense that was one of the league’s best in 2024. He will play alongside Cameron Heyward on the defensive line, Linebacker T.J. Watt, and Linebacker Patrick Queen.

Final Thoughts

This is a solid singing for the team. Ekuale will give Pittsburgh’s defensive line great depth. Pittsburgh’s defense is consistently one of the league’s best. Ekuale will look to be a contributor to the unit in 2025. Pittsburgh must continue improving its offense. The best way to do that is to find out who will be their quarterback next season.
