Philadelphia Eagles 2025 NFL Draft Preview

Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles won the Super Bowl last season. They had the best roster in the history of the franchise. Their defense went from worst to first last year, with the help of some first and second-year players. Cooper DeJean and Quinyon Mitchell were immediate impact players as rookies.

They have lost talent in the trenches on both sides of the ball this offseason, and Tight End Dallas Goedert’s future remains uncertain. With those needs in mind, Philadelphia hopes to reload for another run at the Super Bowl in 2025. Here is the 2025 NFL Draft preview for the Eagles.

Philadelphia Eagles 2025 NFL Draft Picks

The Philadelphia Eagles have eight draft picks in the 2025 NFL Draft.

  • Round 1: No. 32
  • Round 2: No. 64
  • Round 3: No. 96
  • Round 4: No. 134
  • Round 5: No. 161 (from Houston)
  • Round 5: No. 164 (from Cleveland)
  • Round 5: No. 165 (from Washington)
  • Round 5: No. 168

The Philadelphia Eagles will make all their selections in the first five rounds. Expect General Manager Howie Roseman to be aggressive, as usual with trades during the draft. It would be shocking if they made all four fifth-round pick selections. Look for the Eagles to trade out of this year’s draft when they can, and stockpile assets for the 2026 NFL Draft.

Team Needs

The Philadelphia Eagles have lost talent on the defensive side of the ball in free agency. They’ll need to replace Josh Sweat and Milton Williams’ production on the line. Eagles legend Brandon Graham also announced his retirement. The Eagles love throwing resources at the defensive line. Expect them to draft players at that position early and often. They lost Darius Slay and C.J. Gardner-Johnson in the secondary as well. Sydney Brown is waiting in the wings at safety for CJGJ, but the roster could use another outside corner.

Offensively the Eagles need a replacement for Guard Mekhi Becton. It would not be shocking to see the Eagles draft a lineman with guard tackle versatility. It would address an immediate need and provide an eventual replacement for future Hall of Fame OT Lane Johnson. Goedert’s status as tight end remains up in the air. The Eagles will need to address this situation at some point in the draft. Whether they bring Goedert back or not. Backup running back is a position to keep an eye on in later rounds.

Mock Draft

  • Round 1: No. 32: Walter Nolen DT Ole Miss
  • Round 2: No. 64: Marcus Mbow OL Purdue
  • Round 3: No. 96: Josaiah Stewart EDGE Michigan
  • Round 4: No. 134: Harold Fannin TE Bowling Green
  • Round 5: No. 161 (from Houston): Willie Lampkin OL North Carolina
  • Round 5: No. 164 (from Cleveland): Caleb Ransaw DB Tulane
  • Round 5: No. 165 (from Washington): Bhayshul Tuten RB Virginia Tech
  • Round 5: No. 168: Hollin Pierce OT Rutgers

Mock Draft Analysis

Philadelphia gets Milton Williams’ replacement in the first round. The Eagles have a history of drafting defensive linemen in the first round and Roseman loves SEC linemen. This is a safe prediction. Michigan Tight End Colston Loveland is an alternative if he falls. Or if Roseman decides to push his chips in and trade up. Stewart is the type of speed edge rusher the Eagles typically target.

On offense, Offensive Line Coach Jeff Stoutland gets a few new toys to play with. Mbow has the versatility to play inside and outside. Fannin put up gaudy numbers at Bowling Green leading the NCAA in receiving as a tight end. This year’s running back class is loaded. The Eagles lost running back Kenneth Gainwell but signed A.J. Dillon in free agency. Tuten was a walking highlight reel in college. Stoutland gets his chance to develop the next Jordan Mailata with Pierce at the end of the draft.

Final Thoughts

This season’s draft seems pretty cut and dry for the Eagles. They need to invest in the offensive and defensive line, something they have done consistently in the past decade. I would be surprised if Philadelphia made all their selections. As Eagles fans like to say, it is now Howie season. He will be working the phones during all 7 rounds. They will have to pay Jalen Carter and Nolan Smith soon, as well as DeJean and Mitchell.

They need to get as much talent on cheap rookie contracts as possible. They have added massive amounts of talent through the draft in the last few years. If the Eagles can hit on a few more picks this year, the NFC should go through them for the foreseeable future.
