Florida Panthers Complete Successful Road Trip To Extend Winning Streak To 3 Games
The Florida Panthers have been in a drought and have fallen down the Eastern Conference standings. Now, it seems as though they have found their game on the road. The Panthers started their three-game road trip in Winnipeg last Thursday and have gone on a winning streak that they desperately needed.
The Florida Panthers beat the Winnipeg Jets in the shootout, followed by winning back-to-back games over the weekend. They are back at home Tuesday night against the Utah Mammoth. The Panthers are hoping to add to make it four wins in a row. For right now, they are on the outside looking in on a Wild Card spot.
Florida Panthers Are On a Hot Streak
The team is on a three-game winning streak and is hoping to keep the momentum going for Tuesday’s game against the Utah Mammoth. The Panthers are currently 28-20-3 with 59 points. The current last playoff spot is occupied by the Boston Bruins with 62 points.
Key players like Matthew Tkachuk and Brad Marchand returned over the road trip. They have brought success and confidence back into the team. Florida is finding their game and also having success on the power play, forechecking, goaltending, and scoring.
Goaltending Has Improved
Along with the success of finding their game, the Florida Panthers goaltending has backup goaltender, Daniel Tarasov, on a four-game winning streak. He has only allowed 5 goals on 90 shots. He allowed a lone goal against the Blackhawks on Sunday night.
The Florida Panthers’ recent surge is fueled not just by a string of victories, but also by the headline-grabbing actions of their goaltending duo, Sergei Bobrovsky and Tarasov. The veteran Bobrovsky recently stole the spotlight by engaging in a rare goalie fight against Alex Nedeljkovic of the San Jose Sharks.
This incident marked Bobrovsky’s first career NHL fight and generated significant buzz, highlighting an unexpected layer to the team’s strong goaltending narrative this season.
The Path Forward
Now that the Panthers have gotten key players back into the lineup, they look almost like the back-to-back champions that they are. By successfully navigating a challenging three-game road trip with a perfect 3-0-0 record, the team demonstrated significant resilience and momentum.
The Panthers have firmly positioned themselves as a team to watch in the competitive Atlantic Division. This current winning streak not only improves their standing but also underscores a newfound grit and determination that could prove crucial as the season progresses.
