Brad Marchand Remains Hot In Return For the Florida Panthers
The Florida Panthers got the return of two star forwards this week, with Matthew Tkachuk returning against the San Jose Sharks, but most importantly, Brad Marchand returned to the lineup when the Panthers played the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night.
Marchand has led the Panthers in goals and assists this season. He missed seven games with an undisclosed upper body injury he suffered in Toronto on Jan. 6. Marchand came back to the lineup on fire, and it seemed like he never left. He scored two goals in his return, including the game-winner in overtime against the Wild.
Brad Marchand Returns
Despite missing a significant chunk of time due to injury, Marchand remains a pivotal offensive force for the Florida Panthers. He is currently tied for the team lead in assists and is just one point behind Sam Reinhart for the overall team lead in points.
His ongoing high-level production has been integral to the Panthers’ ability to remain competitive and in playoff contention while navigating various injury woes across the lineup this season.
There was a surprise on Saturday night when the Florida Panthers took the ice for warmups. Marchand lined up on the right side of a line with Anton Lundell and Eetu Luostarinen.
While they continue to get healthier, the Panthers remain without captain Aleksander Barkov, and Forwards Tomas Nosek and Jonah Gadjovich. The Panthers are still down their top defensemen pair, Dmitry Kulikov and Seth Jones.
Florida Panthers Return Home
After a successful road trip and Marchand’s return, the return home for the Panthers will be electric. The Florida Panthers will take on the Utah Mammoth on Tuesday night, looking to extend their winning streak to four games. The Panthers are 6-4 in their last 10 games. The Mammoth are on a wild win streak themselves, with both teams entering the matchup on hot streaks.
The Tuesday night clash at Amerant Bank Arena serves as a high-stakes “measuring stick” game for both clubs. For Florida, it is a chance to validate their perfect road trip in front of a home crowd. For Utah, it is an opportunity to solidify its status as the hottest team in the Western Conference.
