Pittsburgh Steelers End Miami Dolphins Winning Streak
The Miami Dolphins have a reputation of not playing well in the cold, and that reputation was upheld in Pittsburgh on Monday Night Football. Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers stole the show on primetime, and it did not disappoint, winning 28-15.
Pittsburgh Steelers Win On Monday Night Football
The Steelers came into Monday night with a record of 7-6 and at the top of the AFC North division. It seems they will win the division if they can keep their winning ways as the regular season is coming to an end.
The 4-time MVP Aaron Rodgers threw for two touchdowns and looked like his old self, looking great in below-freezing weather. Rodgers was 23 of 27, 224 yards, and two touchdowns. The Steelers collectively played great football even without star defensive end T.J Watt.
The Miami Dolphins just could not stop the Steelers’ offense, and the Dolphins’ offense came alive too late in the game. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa was 18 of 23 with two touchdowns and an interception. Tua threw an interception in the first quarter and was sacked by former teammate Jalen Ramsey.
Miami had two late touchdowns in the fourth quarter but failed on both 2-point conversions. With the loss against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Dolphins are officially eliminated from the playoffs and will fall to 6-8 on the season.
Ahead for Both Teams
The Pittsburgh Steelers will head to Detroit to take on the Lions next Sunday, while the Miami Dolphins have another prime-time game on Sunday Night Football against Joe Burrow and the Bengals at home in Miami. It should be a battle of two bad teams for this game.
For both teams, as the end of the season nears, the end of what lies for the future. For the Dolphins, head coach Mike McDaniel might be coaching his last few games as a Miami Dolphin. As for the Cincinnati Bengals, Joe Burrow and the organization will be looking to make changes as well after not having the success they had last season.
