Philadelphia Eagles News: Jalen Carter Ejected in Week 1 vs. Dallas Cowboys
We have gotten through the kickoff of the Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles opening game of the season before we had some drama. That drama that ensued saw one of the key players for the Eagles surprisingly get ejected before even taking a snap in the 2025 season. Let’s take a deeper dive into what exactly happened to the Philadelphia Eagles’ star defensive tackle to get ejected.
Philadelphia Eagles Star Jalen Carter Ejected

The Philadelphia Eagles may have dropped the Super Bowl banner before kickoff, but they lost one of their best players right away. When going onto the field following the opening kickoff, defensive tackle Jalen Carter got into some drama. The Dallas Cowboys offense was on the field preparing for the first offensive play of the season, but there was an injured Eagles player on the field. Carter would walk over the Cowboys and start talking with quarterback Dak Prescott.
However, things would not be great for the third-year star as he spat on Prescott and was flagged for it. The referee threw a penalty flag for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and ejected Carter from the game. This is a major blow to the Philadelphia Eagles as they saw a significant amount of snaps on the defensive side of the football leave in free agency from the Super Bowl Championship team.
Carter made his first Pro Bowl team last season as in 16 games (15 starts), he finished with 42 total tackles, 4.5 sacks, 12 tackles for loss, 16 quarterback hits, two forced fumbles, and six pass deflections. The defensive line for the Philadelphia Eagles revolves around him and now having the entire game without him makes the Dallas Cowboys’ gameplan on offense completely different.
It will be interesting to see if Carter or the Eagles discuss the situation following the game to the available media.
