Odell Beckham Jr. Says He Still Plans On Playing During 2025 NFL Season
A day after the former New York Giants Wide Receiver Odell Beckham Jr. shut down a false report of his retirement on Tuesday, NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero on X reported that Beckham “has drawn interest from several teams and plans to play somewhere in 2025.” Beckham reportedly “continues to train in anticipation of being on the field soon,” per Pelissero.
Odell Beckham Jr. Plans On Playing In the 2025 NFL Season
After 10 seasons in the NFL, Odell Beckham Jr. has decided to retire,” the account, which goes by @AdamSche1fer, wrote. “Beckham Jr. played for the Giants, Browns, Rams, Ravens, and Dolphins. He announced on Tuesday.” However, Beckham quickly shut down the rumor by saying LOL, WTF!?. The 32-year-old remains a free agent with Week 1 less than a month away after playing nine games with the Dolphins last season.
Odell Beckham Jr. did not make an impact with the Miami Dolphins last season. He had nine catches for 55 yards and a touchdown. Beckham Jr. has 575 receptions for 7,987 receiving yards and 59 touchdowns across 10 NFL seasons. The pass-catcher won a Super Bowl with the Rams in 2022.
Potential Landing Spots
The Minnesota Vikings can use a wider receiver with Justin Jefferson coming off a hamstring injury, and Jordan Addison is suspended for the first three games of the season. The New York Giants can also be interested in having Beckham Jr. return with newly acquired veteran Quarterback Russel Wilson. OBJ could potentially add depth to Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton.
The New York Jets could also use him to add depth to their wide receiver core, but Beckham Jr. would be behind Garrett Wilson and Josh Reynolds. Quarterback Justin Fields could utilize him well. Odell Beckham Jr. can also tease the idea of coming to the Pittsburgh Steelers and playing with D.K. Metcalf, Jonnu Smith, and Aaron Rodgers.
The last potential landing Odell Beckham Jr. can play for is the San Francisco 49ers. Now with Deebo Samuel with the Washington Commanders, Beckham Jr. can be with an offensive group of George Kittle, Jauan Jennings, and Brock Purdy.
Final Thoughts
OBJ is not planning on hanging up the cleats just yet. He still plans on playing this season in the NFL. He posted on his X account: “No seriously.
