New York Giants Gear Up For Brutal 2025 Schedule
The New York Giants had a 2024 season they would like to forget. Between the Daniel Jones saga and poor quarterback play overall, the Giants finished with a 3-14 record. That led to them earning the No. 3 seed in the 2025 NFL Draft, where they selected Abdul Carter. They also traded back into the first round for Ole Miss Quarterback Jaxson Dart.
New York also signed multiple veteran quarterbacks, Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, this offseason. With these moves, New York should be better in 2025. The only issue is they have an extremely difficult schedule. Will they be able to show on-field improvement, or will they be sunk by a brutal schedule?
New York Giants Game-By-Game Breakdown
Week 1: @Washington Commanders: This is a difficult opening game for “Big Blue.” Quarterback Jayden Daniels will look to come out of the gates firing on all cylinders in his sophomore season following an improbable run to the NFC Championship Game. 0-1
Week 2: @Dallas Cowboys: The Giants have struggled against the Dallas Cowboys in recent years. Their last win against them came in January 2021. New York will play a middling Cowboys team, but will come up short. 0-2.
Week 3: vs. Kansas City Chiefs(SNF): This is about as tough a game the New York Giants could have asked for in their home opener. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce will look to put on a show and ruin New York’s home opener. They will be able to do just that. 0-3.
Week 4: vs. Los Angeles Chargers: The Giants will be desperate to get their first win of their year after starting the season 0-3. Unfortunately, their woes will not lead to a win in Week 4. Even a cross-country flight will not be enough for the New York Giants to get in the win column. 0-4.
Week 5: @New Orleans Saints: A trip to “The Big Easy” could be just what the doctor ordered for the Giants. New Orleans is also a team entering the season with low expectations. The Giants will leave New Orleans with a victory in hand. 1-4.
Week 6: vs. Philadelphia Eagles(TNF): The defending champions will come to New Jersey riding high. Running Back Saquon Barkley will once again look to dominate his former team. Philadelphia’s depth will overwhelm New York in this Thursday night tilt. 1-5.
Week 7: @Denver Broncos: New York will head West to face one of the league’s best young teams. Even though the Giants should have a strong defensive line, they will be unable to slow down Quarterback Bo Nix and Denver’s offensive attack. 1-6.
Week 8: @Philadelphia Eagles: Facing the champs twice in three weeks is a brutal draw for the Giants. Their second game against Philadelphia will not go any better than their first matchup. 1-7.
Week 9: vs. San Francisco 49ers: Even though the Niners are not as strong as in years past, they will still be able to go on the road and defeat the hapless Giants. The season is beginning to snowball for the New York Giants at the halfway point. 1-8.
Week 10: @Chicago Bears. If the 2025 season is going as poorly as this article predicts, Dart will be under center for the New York Giants in this game. He will face another young quarterback, Caleb Williams. Both Dart and Williams are looking to revitalize once-proud franchises. Chicago is a better team. That will lead to them winning. 1-9.
Week 11: vs. Green Bay Packers: Green Bay is not expected to be as strong as in 2025 as they have been in recent years. Regardless, they are far superior to the New York Giants. 1-10.
Week 12: @Detroit Lions: Back-to-back games against NFC North teams are no easy task. That could be the best division in the National Football League in 2025. New York will be overwhelmed and run off the field by the Detroit Lions. 1-11.
Week 13: @New England Patriots(MNF): Dart and Drake Maye will face off in primetime. This is one of the softer games on New York’s schedule, and they will not squander the opportunity. They will record their second win of the season. 2-11.
Week 15: vs. Washington Commanders: The Commanders will be vying for playoff seeding when this game rolls around. They will not be tripped up by the hapless New York Giants in this one. 2-12.
Week 16: vs. Minnesota Vikings: By the time this game rolls around, J.J. McCarthy will be firing on all cylinders. New York’s defense, while improved, will have no answer for Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison. 2-13.
Week 17: @Las Vegas Raiders: New York will head West to face a Raiders team that will be on the periphery of the playoff picture in Week 17. The Giants will be looking forward to their offseason travel plans, while Las Vegas will be motivated. 2-14.
Week 18: vs. Dallas Cowboys: The finale will feature two squads nowhere near the postseason. It will come down to which team will be able to show more professional pride. That will be the New York Giants. Another miserable season will end with a win. 3-14.
Final Thoughts
Even though New York will have the same record as they did last year, 3-14, they will be an improved squad. It will unfortunately not show up in the standings. Carter and Kayvon Thibodeaux will make up one of the NFL’s most fearsome pass-rushing tandems, but they will be unable to overcome a poor offense.Â
The goal for the team is to develop Dart to be the full-time starter for 2026. If New York has another poor season, Head Coach Brian Daboll and General Manager Joe Schoen will be shown their walking papers. It will be another rough season in East Rutherford, New Jersey. That has become too common for the New York Giants.
