Michael Irvin Has a Special Message For Dallas Cowboys Fans
Pro Football Hall of Famer Michael Irvin has a special message for the Dallas Cowboys fans. Read on for Irving’s wise words for the Cowboys’ fanbase ahead of the NFL season.
What Did Michael Irvin Say?
Irvin recently sat down with former Cincinnati Bengals star-turned-media personality Adam “Pacman” Jones in a recent episode of BETOnline’s Politely Raw podcast.
Irvin, 60, delivered a passionate yet unfiltered opinion on the current state of the Cowboys. Irvin’s statement transported the NFL world back to a vintage version of “the Playmaker” himself, thanks to his energized, opinionated, and rooted in NFL championship experience demeanor.
He shared his opinions with Jones, 42, over the air. His opinions’ themes included what the current Cowboys squad is missing, what needs to change in the Cowboys’ locker room, and how “America’s Team” can become a Super Bowl contender again. His opinions can quickly spread across Cowboys Nation.
He said that if he were the GM, he’d use the two picks on Rueben Bain Jr. and Ahkeem Mesidor. He added that he didn’t want to be dominant in just one area. He stressed the importance of being dominant upfront, so the secondary would only have to play for a short time.
Who Is Irvin?
Back in the day, Irvin helped lead the Cowboys to three Super Bowl wins in 1992, 1993, and 1995. He was one of three key Cowboys players known as “the Triplets,” alongside Troy Aikman and Emmitt Smith.
The trio of Irvin, Aikman, and Smith was widely considered as one of the greatest trios in league history. The trio’s three Super Bowl wins in four NFL seasons weren’t only legendary themselves, but also came under then-head coaches Tom Landry, Jimmy Johnson, and Barry Switzer, all of whom were equally legendary.
Dallas Cowboys’ Outlook
The Dallas Cowboys’ outlook can be described as a combination of optimism and caution. The Cowboys went 7-9-1 in the 2025 NFL season and are looking to rebuild and improve.
The Cowboys’ keys to a successful 2026 NFL season should include addressing defensive issues, building a strong offensive line, and improving the team’s roster from top to bottom.
The Cowboys can aim for a competitive finish in the NFC East, but we’ll see what happens. The Cowboys’ offense is a significant part of the team’s foundation, while the Cowboys should strive to bounce back from the NFL’s worst defense in 2025.
If Dak Prescott remains healthy and consistent, Dallas can perhaps make a playoff push, but a Super Bowl run appears to be unlikely at the moment. The Cowboys play in a challenging NFC East, and success rests on how defensive players adapt to new Defensive Coordinator Christian Parker’s scheme.
The Cowboys’ upcoming matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in a historic first NFL game in Rio de Janeiro’s Macarena Stadium on Sept. 27, 2026, would be a great start to regain conference and momentum.
