Philadelphia Eagles Win With A Elite Bulldog Paw and Score As Time Expired vs LA Rams
The Philadelphia Eagles were terrible in the first half, and after the first drive of the second half, it was doom and gloom in the city of Philadelphia. Then it was finally time to unleash a Super Bowl MVP, and this Eagles passing game, led by AJ Brown and Devonta Smith. Hurts had three touchdown passes in the second half of this game as the Eagles scored on three of their last few possessions to get the lead to 27-26.Â
But it all came down to the Eagles’ defense and Special teams to finish the comeback, and BIG Man Jordan Davis delivered by blocking Joshua Karty’s game-winning kick and returned it 61 yards for a game-winning touchdown. Here are my takeaways from this 33-26 Eagles victory.Â
Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter with Two Crucial BlocksÂ
The Jordan Davis block and score was the highlight play of the two field goal blocks, but the Jalen Carter field goal block proved to be just as crucial earlier in the fourth quarter. Philadelphia Special Teams coordinator Michael Clay is smart to have both of those guys as part of the field goal block team, and it proved to be crucial today as Week 3 continues to be miraculous for the Eagles. Here’s a look at Jordan Davis’s Day overall…

– 1 turnover on downs run stop
– 2 blocked FGs
– 1 return TD
– 5 tackles
– 1 sack

In the two Super Bowl seasons, it took two miraculous plays late in the game in Week 3. Keep an eye on this Week 3 and see if it sparks something. Speaking of Sparking Something, on to the next takeaway.
KEVIN PATULLO STAY WITH THAT SECOND HALF ATTACK

Patullo’s conservative playing calling in that first half was the reason the Eagles were down in that hole in the first place in this game. Hopefully, Mr. Patullo learned the lesson of trusting Jalen Hurts more often to help guide this offense through the air, especially by drawing stuff up for AJ Brown and Devonta Smith in the passing game, as both Eagles receivers had great second halves in this game.Â
The Defense saved this Game in the First Half
The Eagles only had 33 yards in the first half and were only down 12 points because of how well this defense played in the first half, forcing four field goal attempts in this game. Vic Fangio and his defense is still playing like the best defense in football, even though the CB2 is a bit of a weakness at this point of the season. Especially jarring to see Isaiah Rodgers having the game he did for the Vikings on Sunday when Howie could’ve signed him at that contract he got with Minnesota. Adoree’ Jackson had to leave the game with an injury, which leads to my next takeaway.Â
Lane Johnson’s InjuryÂ
The former All-Pro Tackle Lane Johnson left the game after the Eagles’ first drive due to a Neck Injury. The Eagles suffered the rest of the first half because of MATT PRYOR not being a right tackle in this league, but Philadelphia tried to make that stick for some reason. The adjustment to get Fred Johnson in the game at right tackle was the right call, as that was when the Offense was awakened to do what it did in that second half, as the pass protection was great from Johnson. It will be worth monitoring how Johnson is feeling ahead of the Week 4 tilt against the Buccaneers in Tampa.Â
Final Thoughts
The Rams’ defensive front was great most of the day, led by Jared Verse, and Matthew Stafford did have LA in a great position to win this game, but the grit of the Defending Champs proved to be too much in the end for the finesse trendy Rams team that a lot of social media had picked to win this game before the Week started.Â
