The Main Prospect The Detroit Lions Must Select In 2026 NFL Draft (April Fools Edition)

The Detroit Lions logo is projected on draft stage screen during the 2025 NFL Draft

The Detroit Lions have had the best few years in a very long time. However, last year they missed the playoffs. Its’ crunch time for the Lions. The last few drafts have been very lackluster, and the Lions need to nail this selection. That’s why Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes have been studying tapes and have identified the main prospect they want to draft. its weird that this name wasn’t taken yet, and these mock drafters don’t mention this guy.

The Biggest Team Need For The Detroit Lions

Well, in the Dan Campbell era of coaching, we only need 3 things to succeed, and they are loyalty, balls of steel, and kneecap biting. The Lions need players to buy into the system and the retooling plan the Lions have. To be a Detroit Lion, you must be tough in this brutal sport, and you must be willing to go for it on 4th down every single opportunity that you can. Doesn’t matter if it’s 4th & Inches or 4th & 29, the Lions will go for it every time.

The big thing for a player is there kneecap biting abilities. That’s the thing Dan Campbell wants players willing to bite a kneecap off. Especially on Thanksgiving when we play a game. Those turkey and ham kneecaps can be tough to bite. We know of one prospect in this draft that would fit well in our culture. After all, we consider ourselves a family, and we grow together on and off the field.

With The 17th Pick In The 2026 NFL Draft, The Lions Select – OG Chauncey Billups (Pete Rose Betting Association)

The Pete Rose Betting Association gets another win today. A newly inducted member to their squad has been selected in the 2026 NFL Draft. Billups has been in a bad situation since he was revealed in an illegal, rigged poker game involving the Cosa Nostra. It resulted in losing his job as the “head coach” of the Portland Trail Blazers. It’s not a big loss for Portland, as we remember it’s the NBA. Coaching does not matter at all in that player-driven league.

Remember the thing about loyalty, well, Chauncey Billups is a legend to the Detroit Pistons franchise. Heck, he was a part of the Big 3 Pistons Championship squad in the 2003/24 season. The Big 3 of that team was Chauncey Billups, Richard “Rip” Hamilton, and Ben Wallace. They even had the 2 depth pieces in Tayshaun Pierce and Rasheed Wallace. We need to help Billups get back on his feet.

The man was a phenomenal player on the basketball court, and with his experience at guard, he can help protect Jared Goff. I mean, his blocking experience in the NBA is solid, and while he is 6’3”, his athletic ability makes him perfect for the NFL.

He will also fit in well with the locker room, as he and Jameson Williams are close. Both are members of the Pete Rose Betting Association, and he will spread the word of that organization to others. After all, if he can get a counselor job in the NBA, he can counsel the locker room before NFL games too.

Billups Comeback Story Will Be Legendary

The one thing every league loves is a comeback story. Chauncey Billups will be the easy example of that with the Lions. He is the obvious favorite to win the Comeback Player of the Year award, and with his blocking will be a tremendous benefit to the Lions. He is the perfect pick that will connect with the fanbase and increase ratings. The FBI will have to keep an eye on those betting odds as Billups will help make Lions bets get cashed.

This pick will change lives and revolutionize the NFL, and will be the lock of the draft. The last thing that needs to be said is that this is all a joke. Happy April Fool’s, Lions fans.
