The Houston Texans and Defensive End Danielle Hunter agreed to a huge contract extension Wednesday night. He agreed to a one-year $35.6 million contract extension that will kick in for the 2026-27 season. He is scheduled to make $32 million in 2025 and $55.1 million over the next two seasons. This contract makes him the league’s second-highest-paid defensive end behind only Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns. Hunter is now paid more than Nick Bosa and Maxx Crosby. He is a five-time Pro Bowler and a Second-Team All-Pro once. He is coming off a strong 2024 season with the Houston Texans. He had 46 tackles and 12 sacks, fifth-most in the league. According to PFF, Hunter was the No. 13 defensive end in the league in 2024. His first year with the Texans was a hit, and he will remain with the team for at least two more seasons.
