Dallas Cowboys Make History With 2025 Schedule
The Dallas Cowboys made history with their 2025 schedule. All 32 teams had their schedules for the 2025 season released Wednesday night. On their schedule, Dallas will be the first team in league history to play four Thursday games in a single season.
They visit the Philadelphia Eagles when the Eagles raise their Super Bowl banner in Week 1. They also host the Kansas City Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day, visit the Detroit Lions in Week 14, and visit the Washington Commanders in Week 17. Will the Dallas Cowboys be able to recover from a disappointing 2024?
Dallas Cowboys Season Outlook
A disappointing season for the Dallas Cowboys led to them not signing Head Coach Mike McCarthy to a new deal and promoting OC Brian Schottenheimer to head coach. He will inherit a roster as weak as it has been in years. Dallas has been viewed as a contender in past seasons, but that does not look like it will be the case in 2025.
One of the main reasons behind a disappointing 2024 campaign was injuries to Quarterback Dak Prescott and Linebacker Micah Parsons. Parsons was limited to 13 games while Prescott only played in 8 contests. Dallas needs their two star players to be on the field for the team to reach its full potential. Owner/General Manager Jerry Jones stuck to the blueprint he has followed in recent years. He was not very active in free agency. Dallas has a mediocre roster, and they did not improve it this offseason.
Final Thoughts
Even though the Dallas Cowboys are being treated like an NFC contender, they are in for another disappointing year. They do not have the requisite talent on their roster to compete in a loaded NFC. Dallas is also undoubtedly the third-best team in the NFC East behind the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders. With four Thursday night games, “America’s Team” and their mediocrity will be on display in front of a national audience.
