The Carolina Panthers upset the Dallas Cowboys at home, winning 30-27. In a high-scoring game, the Carolina Panthers are now 3-3 on the season, while the Dallas Cowboys fall to 2-3-1 on the season. The Carolina Panthers are on a winning streak and changing the culture in Carolina.
Carolina Panthers Win Over Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys are continuing to have a disappointing season, despite high hopes for the year. They found themselves in a battle with the Panthers on Sunday afternoon and came up short with a heartbreaking loss. Quarterback Bryce Young was 17 of 25, with three touchdowns and one interception.
Running back Rico Dowdle came with a vengeance Sunday afternoon against his former team and ran for over 183 yards, four receptions for 56 yards and a touchdown. He was a force to be reckoned with, and Dallas could not stop him. Dowdle is now the first player to record back-to-back games with at least 200 scrimmage yards since Dalvin Cook did so in 2020.
The Cowboys’ defense was ripped by NFL fans after another disappointing showing, with many taking to social media to question their effort and scheme. The Cowboys also gave up 410 yards of total offense to the Panthers. Dak Prescott went 25-of-34 for 261 yards with three touchdowns in the loss for the Cowboys.
Despite the Cowboy’s responding to scoring against the Carolina Panthers it just wasn’t enough to win the game entirely. Carolina Panthers kicker Ryan Fitzgerald put the dagger into the Cowboys by hitting a 33-yard field goal to win the game.
Ahead for the Carolina Panthers
The Carolina Panthers will now head on the road to face the New York Jets who are a struggling, winless football team at 0-6. Meanwhile the Dallas Cowboys will try to fix their defensive issues and play against divisional rivals Washington Commanders. The Cowboys are allowing 33 points a game so far this season to opponents one of the worst in the NFL.
