Offensive Tackle Cam Robinson Traded From the Houston Texans To the Cleveland Browns
Just when you thought the Browns’ offensive line situation couldn’t get any more chaotic, GM Andrew Berry swooped in like a superhero in a front-office polo. Cleveland has snagged Offensive Tackle Cam Robinson from the Houston Texans, basically for a bag of footballs—or, more accurately, a swap of late-round picks in 2027. Let’s be real, most of us will forget who those picks even are by the time that draft rolls around.
The Browns’ O-line has been held together by duct tape and prayers. With Dawand Jones done for the year after a nasty LCL and hamstring tear, and Jack Conklin nursing an elbow injury, the tackle positions have been a revolving door of guys who seem to be trying their best, bless their hearts. The backups, KT Leveston and Cornelius Lucas, have been about as effective as a screen door on a submarine, ranking near the bottom of the league in pass block win rate.
Poor Joe Flacco was running for his life against the Lions, getting sacked three times and pressured on what felt like every other drop back. So, is Robinson the savior Cleveland has been waiting for? Let’s pump the brakes a little.
Can Cam Robinson Fix the Browns’ O-Line Mess?

Enter Cam Robinson, a nine-year veteran who has seen it all. He started his career with the Jaguars, had a cup of coffee with the Vikings, and was supposed to be a key piece for the Texans this season. Then, a rookie named Aireontae Ersery showed up and snatched the starting job while Robinson was nursing a knee injury in camp. Ouch. That’s like getting your lunch money stolen by the new kid.
Robinson found himself as a highly-paid backup, which is a spot no veteran wants to be in. Now, he gets a fresh start in Cleveland with a clear path to a starting role. For the Browns, this move is a low-risk, potentially high-reward gamble. The Texans already paid most of Robinson’s salary, so Cleveland gets a plug-and-play starter for pennies on the dollar.
What This Trade Means For Robinson and the Browns
Look, Robinson isn’t a miracle worker. He’s had his own battles with injuries and a suspension in the past. But at this point, the Browns just need a competent body who knows how to handle an NFL pass rush. If he can stay healthy and provide even average play, it’s a massive upgrade.
For a team with playoff aspirations, you can’t go into the meat of your schedule with turnstiles protecting your quarterback. This trade screams, “We’re not giving up.” It’s a classic move by a front office trying to patch a sinking ship mid-voyage. Will it work? Who knows. But it is a heck of a lot better than doing nothing. Welcome to Cleveland, Cam Robinson.
