Denver Broncos vs. New York Jets Week 6 Preview
The Denver Broncos and New York Jets will travel to London for an AFC Matchup in Week 6. The Broncos stormed back against the Philadelphia Eagles, coming back from a 17-3 deficit, scoring 18 unanswered points in the fourth quarter. The Jets continue to struggle, losing their fifth straight game last week against the Dallas Cowboys, and will look to get their first win in London.
Broncos Look To Make It 3 Straight!Â
The Denver Broncos have won two straight games, taking down the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. The offense has come alive, and the defensive line continues to dominate. Nik Bonitto is currently tied for the most sacks in the NFL with seven, and is on pace to set a record with 24 sacks in a single season. Denver is doing this without Dre Greenlaw, who’s expected to return against the New York Giants next week.
The Broncos will also be getting a huge player back on defense this week, in Malcom Roach. He missed the first five games of the season due to a calf strain and is expected to make his season debut tomorrow, despite being listed as questionable. The Broncos’ run defense hasn’t been good all year, and Roach’s injury hurt them a ton.
Bo Nix was fantastic in the 4th quarter, throwing for over 100 yards, and led Denver to three scoring drives. Sean Payton called an aggressive game, trusting his young quarterback to execute and step up when it mattered most.
Jets Still Searching For First Win
The New York Jets are the only winless team left in the NFL. It’s been a disaster so far for Aaron Glenn, as the Jets continue to play undisciplined football. Justin Fields has struggled thus far, but the defense has done them no favors. The Jets have allowed 31.4 points per game to opponents this season, and no offense can keep up with that.
The defense has too many missed tackles and is failing to get home on opposing quarterbacks. New York will get a much-needed boost to their defense, as Jermaine Johnson returns from an ankle injury that’s kept him out for three weeks. Johnson knows the defense has to improve, and that the unit has single-handedly lost the team games.
Aaron Glenn gave the fanbase a newfound hope, but it’s resulted in the same thing that’s happened for what feels like decades now.
Matchups To Watch:
Matchup #1: Olu Fashanu vs. Nik Bonitto. No one has been able to stop Bonitto thus far, and he’ll put a ton of pressure on Justin Fields tomorrow. The defense will need to be sharp, as Fields has shown his ability to maneuver in the pocket and turn it into a big gain.
Matchup #2: Garret Wilson vs. Patrick Surtian. These two have gone at it multiple times, with Surtain coming out on top. The Jets will rely heavily on the running game if Denver shuts down Wilson.
