Abdul Carter Prank Called During 2025 NFL Draft
The prank call saga surrounding the 2025 NFL Draft has a new twist. It was reported earlier today that New York Giants No. 3 overall pick Abdul Carter was also prank called during the festivities. He was reportedly prank called when the Jacksonville Jaguars were on the clock with the No. 2 overall pick. The player, and his agent Drew Rosenhaus, saw through this call. They released the following statement: “It’s unfortunate that these private numbers are getting to the people making the prank calls, said Carter’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus. “Abdul and I knew it was bs and didn’t even tell his family about the call.”
The news surrounding Carter came a few hours after the NFL fined the Atlanta Falcons $250,000 and defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich $100,000. This fine was levied due to Ulbrich’s son, Jax, prank calling Shedeur Sanders during the draft. There have been at least three instances of these calls during the 2025 NFL Draft.
Abdul Carter’s Expectations With New York
Carter was widely regarded as one of the best defensive prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. Being drafted No. 3 overall brings huge expectations along with it. He also added to the expectations by showing interest in the No. 56 jersey of Lawrence Taylor. Taylor refused the request, and the rookie said it would motivate him as he begins his career with the Giants.
Carter joins a Giants defense with some talent. He will play on the defensive line alongside Dexter Lawrence II and Kayvon Thibodeaux. While New York’s offense may not be great, their defense should strike fear into opposing offenses in 2025.
Final Thoughts
Following the harsh punishment surrounding the Sanders prank call, there is more to know about the Carter situation. The biggest question is who made this call to the No. 3 overall pick. If Ulbrich’s situation is any indication, the National Football will come down harshly on those at fault.
