NFL Players Ranked Loudest and Hostile Stadiums To Play

NFL

When NFL teams see the Kansas City Chiefs on their schedules, they are in for a hostile and loud environment to play football in. Arrowhead Stadium is the loudest stadium in the world at 142.2 dB. This is no surprise when the fans cheer and have their staple “war chant” during the game. This makes it impossible to hear your own thoughts, let alone hear the play that is being called.

Now with the NFL Playoffs around the corner, here are some stadiums that were ranked by players that are loud, cold, hostile, and will be tough to play in for the visiting teams come playoff time.

NFL Ranked Loudest Stadiums

Arrowhead Stadium comes in first place with the loudest stadium in the world with players around the NFL saying it’s a crazy environment and there is nothing like it around the NFL. The second loudest stadium is the home of the Seattle Seahawks. CenturyLink Field comes in at 137.6 dB. Even though the Seahawks were eliminated from the playoffs, their stadium is still one of the loudest in the NFL.

The Minnesota Vikings have an indoor stadium due to the extreme environment of Minnesota’s winter months. That fact does not stop U.S. Bank Stadium from getting loud and creating a hostile, uncomfortable environment for the opposing team. New York Giants Wide Receiver Darius Slayton said, ” You can feel it. As soon as you walk in there, everything is purple.” U.S. Bank Stadium comes in third place at 120.1 dB. That is comparable to hearing the sound of chainsaws going off. Good luck to the visiting team that has to play the Vikings in the first round of the playoffs.

Most Hostile Stadiums

There are the loudest stadiums around the NFL, but then there are the hostile ones that are not easy to play in either. The fans will make players feel uncomfortable as the visiting team. Philadelphia Eagles fans are not the most welcoming fans in the NFL. The fans are even harsh on their own team let alone an opposing team. The Eagles fans will even take it a step further and jaw at players on social media.

Carolina Panthers Defensive End Jadeveon Clowney said “They send direct messages on social media, and they don’t forget.” That was illustrated by the reaction to his hit on former Eagles Quarterback Carson Wentz in 2020. The Philadelphia Eagles fans are some of the rowdiest and unforgiving fans in the NFL.

Next, The “Bills Mafia” of the Buffalo Bills has some of the most passionate fans in the NFL. They brave the cold of upstate New York when temperatures are below freezing and the field is pounded with snow. Kansas City Chiefs All-Pro Defensive Tackle Chris Jones said “I completely enjoy playing in Buffalo,” he said. “Their fan base, very similar to ours. Very in tune, very passionate about their team.” Any team that has to go up to Buffalo not only has to deal with Quarterback Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills team but they also have to deal with the fans.

Final Thoughts

There are plenty of stadiums around the NFL that are loud and hostile but these stadiums are the loudest and most uncomfortable for other teams to play in. This is the advantage of the home teams in these stadiums. The NFL Playoffs begin after this Sunday and the fans will be ready to be loud and hostile for the other teams coming in. Playoff football is one of the most exciting times of the year and fans are pumped up for it and rooting for their teams hard.
