The New York Jets have been in the news cycle this morning for some drama. NFL Network’s Colleen Wolfe revealed that she heard from a source that Jets owner Woody Johnson and head coach Robert Saleh were involved in a heated exchange during the league meetings. As people have scrambled for more details, it seems like this might have been a little overblown. Johnson took to social media and slammed NFL Network for the report.
New York Jets Owner Woody Johnson Slams NFL Network
All this nonsense about a heated argument between Coach Saleh and me at the League Meeting is absolutely false. It is yet another irresponsible report from NFL Network. Please disregard.

The source claimed that the two leaders of the New York Jets had a “very heated conversation,” which ended awkwardly. Woody Johnson says this is all false and lets fans know on social media.

The fact he specifically calls out the NFL Network is a huge deal. It is the network the league runs, and an NFL owner blasted them for “irresponsible reporting.”
New York Jets: Conflicting Reports
While it is easy to poke fun at the New York Jets, other reports have come from sources who have said the situation is overblown. Sports Illustrated reported that “a source who was in Orlando tells us the report is very much overblown, and that the “conflict” was nothing of any particular note.” Woody Johnson wants to bring a championship to the New York Jets. There might be some more intense conversations going into a critical year.
The New York Jets are praying for a healthy season from their players. Aaron Rodgers is back from his Achilles injury, and they signed players with injury history to fill some holes. With all the turmoil last season, it’s easy to forget that the team went 7-10. If the defense stays dominant and the offense improves, this team could contend in 2024.
