He was sixth in the league in solo tackles. Spillane has had a great two seasons with the Raiders. He was 10th in the league in total tackles in 2023. Will Spillane be able to produce at a similar level for the New England Patriots?

New England Patriots Offseason Outlook

New England is expected to be active this offseason with the most cap space in the National Football League. Many experts believe New England will spend heavily to bolster its offense this offseason. Early this morning New England traded Defensive Tackle Davon Godchaux to the New Orleans Saints for a seventh-round pick.

Head Coach Mike Vrabel will ensure the team’s defense is not left behind in free agency. The unit struggled last season. They were especially bad against the run as teams would take big leads and run the ball to speed up the game. According to PFF, Spillane was the eighth-best linebacker defending the run. The New England Patriots will lean on that part of his skillset in 2025.

Final Thoughts

Spillane has been one of the best linebackers in the league and will look to continue producing at a similar level for the new-look Patriots. New England will have a much different roster in a few months, and Spillane will be an anchor of the team’s defense.
