The Phoenix Suns signed two-way Guard Jamaree Bouyea to a new two-year contract, sources told ESPN. Read on for further details surrounding the Suns’ latest signing of Bouyea.
Phoenix Suns Sign Jamaree Bouyea to a New Contract
Shams Charania reported on X, formerly Twitter, “The Phoenix Suns are signing two-way guard Jamaree Bouyea on a new two-year contract, sources tell ESPN. After two-way and 10-day deals with six teams in 3+ years, Bouyea earns a standard contract, averaging 6.5 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in rotation role for the Suns.”
Charania’s report on X attracted ample attention. One user responded, “Hard work pays off. Bouyea staying in the Valley. Standard contract secured. Well deserved.”
Another user replied, “Sometimes you just have to be a star in your role. Jamaree Bouyea did it well. Is not always about stats but about intangibles.”
Suns’ Outlook With Bouyea
Phoenix’s outlook with Bouyea in the long term appears to be bright. The 26-year-old went undrafted during the 2022 NBA Draft and has been on multiple two-way and 10-day contracts with six different teams before earning security in the Valley.
The 26-year-old’s stats off the bench have been solid. The Seaside, Calif. native is currently averaging 6.5 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 1.8 assists, while shooting 48% from the field, 31.7% from the three-point range, and 71% from the free throw line.
Suns’ Next Steps
The Suns (34-26) face the Sacramento Kings (14-48) in a one-game road tilt inside the Golden 1 Center on Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. Pacific. After the road tilt in the California state capital, Phoenix returns to the Mortgage Matchup Center for a three-game homestand against the Chicago Bulls on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Mountain, the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday at 7:00 p.m. Mountain, and the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday at 8:00 p.m. Mountain.
It’s unclear how many minutes Bouyea will play, but he can positively impact Phoenix’s play with his speed, agility, shooting ability, body control, and offensive footwork.
