Houston Rockets-Center Clint Capela Agree On 3-Year Contract
The Houston Rockets and veteran Center Clint Capela agreed on a three-year $21.5 million contract Monday evening. This is a homecoming for the big man. He spent the first six seasons of his career in Houston. Capela is coming off a down year with the Atlanta Hawks. He averaged 8.9 points per game and 8.5 rebounds during the regular season. That was his fewest points averaged since 2015-16 and his fewest rebounds since 2016-17. How will his reunion go with the Houston Rockets?

It has been a busy few weeks for the Houston Rockets. Their biggest offseason move was acquiring Kevin Durant earlier this month. Capela will play alongside Point Guard Fred VanVleet, Alperen Sengun, and Steven Adams. It is unclear where Capela will fit with the team. He will presumably be behind Sengun and Adams on the depth chart. Carving out minutes for Capela will not be an easy task for Head Coach Ime Udoka.
Final Thoughts
Capela is a solid veteran, but his spot with the Rockets is uncertain. Following a disappointing season, he will look to revitalize his career in a city he is intimately familiar with.
