Golden State Warriors Star Stephen Curry Torches Orlando Magic
Golden State Warriors Point Guard Stephen Curry had a night to remember on Wednesday on the road against the Orlando Magic. Curry’s masterpiece helped the Warriors overcome a 17-point deficit to win 121-115. Curry made multiple pieces of history last night including his 26th game with 10+ three-pointers, 45th game with 9+ three-pointers, and his ninth 50-point game in his 30s.
Curry finished with 56 points and 12 three-pointers last night. He was one triple short of his career-high. Curry and LeBron James have dominated the NBA over the past few decades. Last night those two men were joined in the NBA record books. Curry tied James with his 14th career 50-point game. Will Curry be able to continue playing well and help the Golden State Warriors climb the Western Conference standings?

Golden State has played much better as of late. Their improved performance has coincided with the team acquiring Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat. The trio of Curry, Butler, and Draymond Green are 7-1 together. Most importantly, Curry has looked like an entirely different player since Butler came to town. Golden State’s solid play has them as the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference. They are only a half-game out of jumping out of the NBA Play-In Tournament.
Golden State’s offense has been mediocre but has been much better with Butler on the team. They are 16th in points per game, 25th in field goal percentage, and 15th in three-point percentage. The team’s defense has been their calling card this season. They are ninth in points allowed, 11th in opposing field goal percentage, and 16th in opposing three-point percentage. The Warriors are also one of the NBA’s best teams at turning over the opposition.
Final Thoughts
If the Golden State Warriors, and Curry, can keep up this level of play no team will want to see them in the NBA Playoffs. The Warriors continue their road trip against the Philadelphia 76ers tomorrow night. Curry has turned back the clock over the last few weeks. That fact should scare the other 29 NBA teams.
