Dallas Mavericks Complete Comeback in 100-98 Win Over Sacramento Kings
The Sacramento Kings hosted the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night, but the Mavericks defeated the Kings 100-98 at the Golden 1 Center. Dallas improved to 14-23, while Sacramento fell to 8-29.

Sacramento Kings vs. Dallas Mavericks Starters

Dallas’ starting lineup featured Christie, Naji Marshall, Cooper Flagg, Davis, and Daniel Gafford. Dallas ruled out Dante Exum (knee), Kyrie Irving (knee), Dereck Lively II (foot), and PJ Washington (ankle).
Kings vs. Mavericks Recap
Tuesday night’s game featured a battle of the bottom-feeders. However, the Kings and Mavs have been enjoying intense matchups, bold trades, and passionate fanbases since the early 2000s. Both teams deliver must-watch games to Western Conference fans.
The Mavs appeared to strive for greatness, just days after they posted an On This Day (OTD) post to X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday. The Mavs’ post read, “OTD (2000): From fan to owner. 26 years ago today, Mark Cuban purchased the Mavericks.”
Sacramento opened the first-quarter scoring, but Dallas responded, thanks to Christie’s pair of free throws. Both teams exchanged leads and ties throughout the first quarter. LaVine’s pick-and-roll made headlines. Sacramento’s late 9-0 run helped build a 10-point lead. Sacramento took a 35-25 lead to end the first.
Dallas went on a 7-0 run to open the second quarter. Flagg hit an early three-pointer. Sacramento’s late 8-0 run helped build a 12-point lead. Raynaud excelled with an insane sequence. Turnovers, along with a lost challenge over DeRozan’s hit on Christie’s knee down low, affected Dallas. Sacramento took a 58-46 lead into halftime.
Dallas went on a 7-0 run to open the third quarter. Marshall shone with second-chance points. Flagg banged knees with Achiuwa and hobbled off the court. Flagg later returned. Mavs fans breathed a sigh of relief. Dallas used a late 9-0 run to cut the lead to one. Sacramento took a 78-76 lead after three quarters.
Flagg went coast-to-coast to open the fourth quarter. Davis picked up the pace in scoring and rebounding. The officials assessed a technical foul to DeRozan, who appeared to disagree with the officials’ assessment. Dallas took its first lead, 88-87, since 14-13 in the opening quarter. The Mavericks won 100-98 in regulation.
