Brooklyn Nets Select Danny Wolf with 27th Pick in 2025 NBA Draft
The Brooklyn Nets made NBA history as they became the first team to select five players in the first round of the NBA Draft as they selected Michigan Wolverines forward Danny Wolf with the 27th pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. The Nets are going to be an interesting roster with their five selections but let’s take a closer look at what selecting Danny Wolf means for the Brooklyn Nets going forward.
Brooklyn Nets Select Danny Wolf

The Brooklyn Nets were able to get a solid player with Michigan Wolverines forward Danny Wolf being picked. Wolf played three years of college basketball (two with Yale and one with Michigan). With the Wolverines last season, he started all 37 games and averaged 13.2 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.4 blocks, and 0.7 steals per game in 30.5 minutes. Wolf also looked like he could be a solid playmaker, but he needs to shoot better after he went 59% from the charity stripe.
He made a solid transition from the Ivy League to the Big Ten and now looks to do so going into the NBA. Wolf can be a solid four alongside center Nic Claxton in the starting lineup if he progresses that way through the Summer League and the preseason.
Final Thoughts
The Nets made some intriguing moves and it feels like the front office had an idea of who they wanted, as they got playmakers with experience and high basketball IQ. With the expectation that both Cam Thomas and Day’Ron Sharpe are returning as restricted free agents, this roster could be a young team that learns together. With coach Jordi Fernandez being a coach who can develop talent and win games, this Brooklyn Nets team can be a threat for one of the play-in spots in a weak Eastern Conference next season.
