Chicago Cubs First Baseman Michael Busch Continues His Great 2-Game Stretch
Following a great performance yesterday, where he homered three times, Chicago Cubs First Baseman Michael Busch picked up right where he left off this afternoon. He hit a solo shot in his first plate appearance of the day. He went 3-of-5 today against the St. Louis Cardinals. He started the series off with seven straight hits. That was the longest streak since Anthony Rizzo had hits in eight straight plate appearances in 2016. He is also sixth in the league in OPS. Will the first baseman continue swinging the bat so well?

Busch debuted with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2023. He came to the Chicago Cubs following a trade with the Dodgers in January 2024. The first baseman was the team’s everyday first baseman in 2024 and acquitted himself well. He is on pace to blow past his statistics from last year in 2025.Â
Final Thoughts
Busch and the Cubs return to the field tomorrow for the final game of their three-game set against the St. Louis Cardinals. If the first baseman can continue playing this well, Chicago can go on a deep postseason run.
