New York Mets Shortstop Francisco Lindor Sees Tremendous Streak Halted

New York Mets Shortstop Francisco Lindor hit a home run last night on the road against the Philadelphia Phillies. That usually leads to wins. That was not the case on Sunday night. New York lost 7-1. The Mets had won 28 consecutive regular season games when he went deep. That was the second-longest streak in league history of wins when homering for a player since 1900. Carl Furillo had 29 such games from 1951-1953.

It has been a mediocre season for the star shortstop. He is hitting .270 with 16 home runs and 42 RBI. Even though he has not swung the bat well in June, he has a track record that illustrates he will turn it around soon. Will Lindor be able to get on track as the summer marches on?

Lindor and the New York Mets return to the diamond this evening when they begin a three-game set at home against the Atlanta Braves. New York needs to turn things around quickly as they have lost 8 of their last 9 games.
