The Yankees need to keep winning to keep pace in the American League playoff race, and they were relying upon young Cam Schlittler to lead them. Judge and Stanton, who were both in the game last night, hit home runs in the same game for the 57th time. Stanton was not in the lineup today.
Stanton’s home run was the 450th of his career. A milestone blast for the slugger who has been hampered by injuries in his career. It used to be that hitting 500 home runs guaranteed a player admission to the Hall of Fame. However, there are so many home runs hit in baseball now that the number is cheapened a bit.
This was the final game of the season at Camden Yards.

This was a well-pitched game by both Cam Schlittler and Kyle Bradish, tied at 1 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning. Now, the Baltimore Orioles have an advantage as the home team. They now know how many runs they need to score to win the game.
Cam Schlittler did his job today; however, fans have to wonder where the Yankees’ runs will come from. This game went to extra innings. Given the rules, the home team has a big advantage in extra innings.
This game was the Ben Rice show. He drove in the Yankees’ first five runs and had four hits.
