Breaking: Minnesota Timberwolves Stun Defending Champs With Incredible Game 7 Finish

Minnesota Timberwolves Anthony Edwards

The Minnesota Timberwolves closed out a tough series against the defending champs with a great game 7 performance. Things were not looking pretty for the Wolves halfway through the first three-quarters of game 7. The Nuggets gained an early lead in the second quarter. After that, they kept dominating by increasing their lead to their biggest margin of 20 points at the start of the third quarter.

However, the Timberwolves huddled together and fought back like a pack of wolves hungry for a championship. Led by Anthony Edwards, the Wolves slowly drained that 20-point Nuggets lead down to a tie. Then things went in their favor as the took the lead at the start of the fourth quarter.

From there, the game was neck and neck and it looked like it was anyone’s for the taking. Then the Wolves increased their lead to 10, and the Nuggets were unable to play catch up as time was not on their side.

After winning game 7 the Minnesota Timberwolves advance to the Western Conference finals. The T-Wolves will have to face the Dallas Mavericks. It will be interesting to see how the Wolves bounce back from the fatigue of a seven game series. However, the Dallas Mavericks are in a similar position from just completing an intense six game series.

The Western Conference Finals will be a spectacle to see. The match up of Rudy Gobert and Karl-Anthony Towns vs. the two younger Dallas centers, Dereck Lively and Daniel Gafford is something to keep an eye on. Another thing to consider is how the intense defense of the Wolves will contain Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving. A bigger question is for the coaching staff of the Mavericks: how do they plan to stop the star and heart of the Wolves, Anthony Edwards?

Both teams will have to make significant changes to accommodate the new match ups of their new opponent. However, right now the focus for the Wolves is to celebrate being back in the Western Conference Finals for the first time since 2004.
