The Milwaukee Bucks have been playing solid basketball since the All-Star break. Doc Rivers has ramped up the defensive intensity, and the combination of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard is leading this veteran team. What should scare other teams is they haven’t been at full strength. Khris Middleton has been dealing with an ankle injury and has been out for just over a month. Reports indicate he is expected to return on Sunday versus the Phoenix Suns.
Milwaukee Bucks Wing Khris Middleton Set To Return
Milwaukee Bucks F Khris Middleton (ankle) plans to make his return to the lineup vs. the Phoenix Suns Sunday on ABC, he told reporters today.

Khris Middleton confirmed this to reporters during practice on Saturday. He will be returning to the Milwaukee Bucks lineup. Middleton has already missed 24 games this season, but the team wants to get him back into the rotation before the playoffs begin. When he has played, he is averaging almost 15 points and five assists while shooting 48.7% from the field.
He isn’t a number one option anymore at 32 years old, but Lillard and Giannis will take most of the scoring load. Middleton can be a third option for scoring. He will likely find himself with a lot of open shots as teams scramble to guard the other two stars. When Jrue Holiday was on the team, opposing teams could zero in on him. The Milwaukee Bucks could use his scoring and experience.
Milwaukee Bucks Fighting For Playoff Position
No one is catching the Boston Celtics. They will be the number one seed in the East, barring a historic collapse. However, the number two seed is up for grabs. The Milwaukee Bucks are in a tight race with the Cleveland Cavaliers, who have ridden the wave of their massive winning streak. Getting Khris Middleton back, even if it is for limited minutes, should help this team fend off the Cavaliers. The Milwaukee Bucks hope all the moves they have made pay off. They are slated for another deep playoff run in 2024.
