Milwaukee Brewers Continue Wonderful Play At Home During 2024 Season

The Milwaukee Brewers continued to dominate at home.

With a 3-1 win last night against the Toronto Blue Jays, the Milwaukee Brewers continued their exemplary play within the friendly confines of American Family Field. The “Brew Crew” has won 14 of their last 17 games at home. During this hot streak, the only three losses for the Milwaukee Brewers came at the hands of the St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Chicago Cubs. All three of these teams are divisional foes so they know the Brewers team better than any others in the league.

The pitching staff of the Brewers carried them to victory on Monday evening. Starting Pitcher Colin Rea surrendered one earned run over seven innings of work in the low-scoring game. Milwaukee’s bullpen followed up Rea’s solid start with two scoreless innings. A strong pitching performance allowed the Milwaukee Brewers to take the first game of their three-game set with Toronto.

Milwaukee has a home record of 19-10, which gives them the fourth-most home victories in Major League Baseball. Will the Brewers be able to keep up this pace for the remainder of the 2024 season?

Milwaukee Brewers Season Summary

The Brewers(39-27) hold a sizable lead in the National League Central and have the third-best record in the National League. Milwaukee leads the Reds, Cubs, and Cardinals by seven games in the division. Only the Philadelphia Phillies and Los Angeles Dodgers have a better record in the National League than Milwaukee. Both the Phillies and Dodgers have World Series aspirations, so the Brewers find themselves in good company.

The Milwaukee Brewers have been powered by a great offense this season. They are third in batting average, 11th in home runs, and sixth in runs scored. Their offense is paced by Catcher William Contreras and Shortstop Willy Adames. Contreras is top 10 in the league in both batting average(.308) and RBI(46) while Adames leads the team in home runs and OBP.

Other Parts Of The Brewers Team Are Strong As Well

The Milwaukee Brewers pitching staff has also been solid this season. They are 10th in ERA, 12th in opposing batting average, and fourth in saves. Relief Pitcher Jared Koenig leads the Brewers with six wins and Starting Pitcher Freddy Peralta is seventh in the league in strikeouts. Trevor Megill leads a “closer by committee” approach that has been extremely successful for the ballclub this season.

Milwaukee has also been one of the best teams this season in the field. They are seventh in the league with a fielding percentage of .987. They have committed the fourth-fewest errors in the league this season.

Brewers Upcoming Schedule

The Brewers face the Blue Jays tonight for the second game of their three-game series. Milwaukee has an off-day on Thursday before hosting the Cincinnati Reds for three games beginning on Friday. They will look to continue their winning ways at home this week.

The Milwaukee Brewers have been one of the most consistent teams in the league over the last half-decade. They have made the MLB Playoffs in five of the last six seasons and are looking to finally break through in a loaded National League. They have set themselves up well thus far, but with so much season left, they must make sure they can keep it up.
