Los Angeles Dodgers Star Sounds Off On 2024 Free Agency

The Los Angeles Dodgers Teoscar Hernandez wants to remain a Dodger past this season.

Los Angeles Dodgers Right Fielder Teoscar Hernandez reiterated earlier today his desire to remain a member of the Dodgers past the 2024 season. He signed a one-year $23.5 million contract in January of 2024.

“I want to stay. I don’t want to keep bouncing around the league. I feel good here, comfortable. I think this is a good chance for me to win. That is the most important thing for me. It’s a great group. I would love to stay.”

Hernandez has made himself a boatload of money with a great start to the 2024 season. He is hitting .266 this season with 16 home runs and 48 RBI. He is tied for seventh in the league in both home runs and RBI. Hernandez has been tremendous over his last four games with three home runs and ten RBI over that stretch. He had a career day on Saturday against the New York Yankees when he hit two home runs and had six RBI including a grand slam.

Will Hernandez get his wish and remain with the Los Angeles Dodgers for 2025 and beyond?

Los Angeles(41-26) has been one of the best teams in Major League Baseball this season. They lead the National League West by eight games and have the second-best record in the National League. The Dodgers offense is one of the league’s best as they are fourth in batting average, third in home runs, and second in runs scored. Their offense is paced by Designated Hitter Shohei Ohtani and Shortstop Mookie Betts.

Ohtani and Betts are sixth and seventh respectively in batting average and Ohtani is ninth in the league with 15 round-trippers. The pitching staff of the Los Angeles Dodgers has also been great this season. They are fourth in ERA, third in strikeouts, and fifth in opposing batting average. Starting Pitcher Gavin Stone leads the team with seven wins and Tyler Glasnow is leading the league in strikeouts in addition to being seventh in the league in WHIP.

Dodgers Upcoming Schedule

The Los Angeles Dodgers are riding high after taking two of three games on the road last weekend against the New York Yankees. It allowed Los Angeles to see how they stacked up with another team with World Series aspirations. They have a day off today before hosting the defending champion Texas Rangers for a three-game set beginning on Tuesday.

Teoscar Hernandez will look to build on what has been a great 2024 season and help lead one of the best offenses in the league. If he keeps up this pace, whether he resigns with the Los Angeles Dodgers or not, he will get a lucrative contract this MLB Offseason.
